With the caveats that DM and Ryan come back next year, and that the recruits that we have sign on the dotted line, here's what we have next year. Pick a starter at each position (Madu will be listed as a WR for this scenario):

QB: Jones, Allen, Bell
RB: DM, Calhoun, J. Miller, Clay, Finch
FB: Musil, Crow, Millard
Receiving TE: Hanna, Ratteree, Haywood
Blocking TE: Mensik, L. Johnson, Ikard
WR: Broyles, D. Miller, J. Reynolds, Caleb, Kinney, Madu, Powell, McCray, T. Franks, McClain
OL: Vinson, Brandon, J. Jones, Alandoye, Good, Jeffries, Stephenson, Evans, Habern, Lepak, Woods, Irwin, Shead, Thompson, W. Williams
K: O'Hara, Stevens, Way, Brenley

My choices:
QB: Jones
RB: DM
FB: Millard (closest to prototypical FB and Clapp's skill set)
Receiving TE: Hanna
Blocking TE: Mensik
WR: D. Miller, Broyles, J. Reynolds
OL: (LT) Brandon, (LG) Irwin, (C) Habern, (RG) Evans, (RT) J. Jones
K: O'Hara

QB: Jones (unless Allen dominates the off season)
RB: DM (Calhoun for relief, a little Miller for good measure)
FB:? (not well enough informed, tempted to back IronHorse)
Receiving TE: Ratteree
Blocking TE: Mensick
WR: Broyles, Miller, Caleb or Reynolds
OL:Brandon, ?, Habern,?,? (some more serious battles to be had here)
K: O'Hara
P:Way

K: O'Hara

QB - Open competition - Jones has a leg up due to his experience this season, but Open IT UP.
Starting RB - DeMarco with a heavy dose of Calhoun as his relief.
WR: D. Miller, Broyles, Jaz Reynolds or D White if he's here.
TE: Mensik - if he can play tackle he's the blocker we need in power sets.
OL: Brandon, Irwin, Habern, Evans, Jones
K: O'Hara - he's won the job.

The middle of the line could end-up being pretty good. WHEN HEALTHY, all three of those guys are known for having a bit of a mean streak, and being tactically sound. By the time that they are JR/SRs, they should be REALLY solid. Brandon will be better as a LT, and J.Jones just needs more time to heal and get better. I expect to see a large dose, and I do mean large, dose of Vinson and Alandoye next year. This team could end up using about 10 different linemen next year, maybe more.

Demarco gets a second round nod he's gone: so here goes

QB - Jones
RB - Calhoun 15 carries; Miller 15 Carries
FB - Millard (when needed)
TE - Hanna
WR - Miller, Broyles, Reynolds, Madu
OL - Brandon, Irwin, Habern(healthy), Evans, Jones (heavy rotation Josh Aladenoye in there somewhere)

Assuming DM is Gone....?

2010 Goal ~ #1. - Amp up The Running Game...jmho

Jones starts at QB - Then D.Allen ~ especially when we are ahead by 24 points or more or it's 3 or 4 minutes to go and they No Chance - (Get this Kid Some real playing time in 2010)

RB - Calhoun and Miller 15 Carries each ( I say ~ In the backfield at the SAME Time) -- One of each side of Jones - or One in Motion --Once again - Assuming DM is Gone

Fullback ~ Only in the Red Zone ~ Probably Madu - (Forget that Slot man Stuff)

TE - Hanna

WR - Broyles, Reynolds,

Madu ~ maybe on some double tight end Plays....

imho ~ Jones will be a much better player (and Passer) IF we can have
a more productive Running Game that is at least 50 % of our Game Plan - Unless it's some team who is just horrible at pass defense.....

If some Freshman RB's or WR's shows some Blazing Speed get them IN some games Early in the season, God forbid we have another Rash of Injuries

OL ~ The Biggest & Badass's we can Find....~~ ! --- :) Juco guys as well...

Field goals - O'Hara
Punter - Way

Punt Returns & Kick off return guy - Simple - The fastest guy We can find - Who can also catch the ball...

Keep Rockin'

I'd probably just run the Pistol with Jones and Clapp

If DM does come back, I like him in the slot for 1/2 of his snaps. Pair that with Calhoun for power or Miller for speed.

QB - Jones
RB - Calhoun, Clay, J. Miller (I think murray declares if he gets told late 1st or early 2nd)
FB - Musil
WR- Broyles, D. Miller, Reynolds
TE - Millard, Ratteree
BTE - Mensik
LT - Brandon
LG - Irwin
C - Habern
RG - Evans
RT - Good (I think he is better suited as a tackle than a guard)
K - O'hara

PR - Broyles, D. Franks
KR - Finch and T. Franks

I let every player know that they better play as if each play could be their last cause if they're not getting it done then someone else will get their chance. Especially on the O-line.

I'd also see about adding 15 - 25 pounds to Mensik and give him a look at RT

Apparently he's got his stuff together down on the scout team, so don't count him out. It IS possible to get out of the doghouse. :)

Good to know! I thought I read in the newspaper, a few weeks back, that he wasn't even in class.

QB: Jones, Allen will be a close second and may start by the end of the year.
RB: Murray will stay and backup snaps will be divided between Calhoun and Miller 50/50.
FB: Musil
TE Receiving: Haywood then Ratteree
TE Blocking: Mensik
WR: Broyles, D. Miller, J. Reynolds with the newbs having plenty of PT.
OL: In order from L to R: Brandon, Good, Habern, Evans, Jeffries, Although I hope we get a few JUCO tackles.
K: Way/O'Hara

KR: Broyles and J. Miller
