Should not have scored the TD. Kneel down for two plays, then try to score on third down.

So let me ask, why on earth score on first and goal with the game tied and only one minute left? I don't know why coaches never pick up on this? Just QB sneak it for a foot or so on two consecutive plays. Then if you can't score the TD, you kick the chip-shot FG.

So they could surround the guy that deserves more than anyone to win the Heisman, act like retards so they could get their face on TV, and make the postgame interview with one hard workin' dude a complete mockery.

Damn potsmoking toolbags.

i don't know. i think the percentages are with you just scoring. lots of stupid things can happen.

What he said. 7 over a few downs and 3 all day long.

It was smart by Weis as it was the only chance he had. You could tell by the look on Gerhart's dads face he wasn't pleased with scoring on 1st down. I definitlely think they should have taken 1 knee and drained that last TO.

right, for Weis, it's the right choice because it gives him the best chance

but still, i'd rather take the 100% chance at 7 then 95% at 3 if they only have :59 to go like 80 yards to score a TD

But you have to factor in the chance they have of coming back and scoring. And with the way Gerhart was running, sneaking on 1st and goal to the one foot line was going to net you a TD anyway, just with only 20 seconds left instead of a minute.

you look like a real idiot if that doesn't work though

Yeah, hard to turn down a free TD. But you could tell by the look on Harbaugh's face that it irked him to have Weis determine the play. Certainly not the look of celebration a coach normally shows when his team scores and takes the lead. I wonder if Gerhart situation influenced Harbaugh. If he drained the clock on won on a FG with no time left, he would have taken a TD off the stat sheet for Gerhart.

And can you imagine the uproar from fantasy players who had Toby tonight? :)

Most importantly ND lost.
