Anyone drink a wine that they liked but hadn't tried? I figure some of you might have had Turkey Dinner and tried something different yesterday. I drank a "Leese-Fitch Cabernet Sauvignon 2007" and went back today and got some more.

The one I had with the turkey yesterday was a bit too sweet for my taste. Some kind of Riesling.

Louis Jadot makes some good stuff - particularly the beaujolais and the pinot noir.

Had a Martin Ray chardonnay that was, as my friend described it, "crisp yet buttery." Very good. It's from the Russian River area in California, and wines from that area typically are very good.
I brought a 2007 J. Lohr cab that's silky smooth. There were about 25 different wines on the table (with 25 of us there); wish I could have tried more but I'd probably be dead today. At one point last night I nearly wished I was. :D

While doing some cooking prior to leaving on Thursday, my wife and I tried a Cabernet Sauvingnon from Chile called Root:1.. It was suggested to me by "the wine guy" at the market and was great.

I was especially surprised we enjoyed it as much as we did without a meal. Sometimes Cabs are too overpowering on their own, but this was smooth enough to enjoy over conversation alone..

My parents brought a cab from the Dr. that makes wine on MacArthur and 112nd. Didn't taste like a cab, but it wasn't bad--I believe he imports much of the juice from CA, but some is grown there on the property.

Didn't quite hold up to the Vueve Cliquot pre-dinner and the Chateau Neuf du Pape, but wasn't bad for a $17 wine--particularly one from OK.
