And how much would that earn the "conference"?

apparently the fiesta bowl said it would honor its ties to the big 12 conference and take okie lite over boise state as long as okie lite wins against OU on saturday so the odds of okie lite making it to a bcs bowl game are zero.

Agreed.

No way do the Pokes come into "da house" and take a win home. Defense got kicked, they'll kick back. I foresee something like the Big 12 Championship game in 2007 when we took care of then number 1, Missouri.

They'll be going to the Dippity Doo Hairgel Bowl after tomorrow.

Yeah, hope you guys are right. Hope the Big XII officials don't see those dollar signs.

Well the BCS bowls paid out $17 million last year. I assume that is split between the 2 teams, and then I know it is split evenly throughout the conference.

If OSU were to win and go, then all of the other teams move up a spot. So, really the comparison is the $17 million vs about $1 million payout for a crap bowl.

So, by OU winning, we cost ourselves (17 - 1 ) / 2 / 12 = $667,000.

the first BCS game makes that much($17MM/14), the second one is more like 2 or 3 million

I wouldn't care if it made OU lose one Hundred BILLION DOLLARS I wouldn't want osu to win.

I'll be pulling for OU, naturally, but seeing an Oklahoma team go to a BCS bowl would be a good consolation. Well, for me. Not sure about the rest of you.

That would be the exact opposite of a good consolation.
