Please read this and keep my buddy and his pregnant wife and their family in your thoughts and prayers. Details below....

My wife (also pregnant) and I finally got back from Lubbock a bit ago.
Last year my Tech fan buddy and his wife went to the game w/us and they stuck it out the whole game/slaughter til near the end of the 4th.
So my wife and I decided to join them this year in Lubbock...(kinda seems like we're going to make this a yearly home and away thing). Hotels were priced ridiculously as many of you may know. So my friend's family welcomed my wife and I into their home in Lubbock to stay the weekend with all of them.

Yesterday morning when we were all getting ready to leave for the game my friend's wife (20 wks prego) began experiencing difficulties. Now she's been in the hospital since yesterday morning. She was dialated and having contractions. They've had her laying with her feet elevated to try to bring the pressure back into her belly instead of down low. They did an ultrasound today and things aren't looking great. There's a substantial chance they will lose this baby. What's also terrible is they are basically stuck at this hospital until something happens....which is several hours away from where they actually live.

They currently have two little princesses for daughters and (if things can somehow take a major turn for the better)this will be their third daughter .
I know they are struggling with this experience...but even more so than one may think. A similar situation came about with their 2nd daughter (she was born extremely premature/delivered at like 22 or so weeks and is basically a miracle she's in this world today/she's now a couple years old).

Anyway, obviously my buddy nor his wife were able to make it to the game..but they insisted my wife and I and some of their family go because there was nothing we could do at the hospital while they waited with some of their family anyway. So Mrs. OU-HSV and I went ahead to the game but immediately following the game we went to the hospital to once again check on the situation. Last I heard the contractions are stopped and she's not dialated much, but other than that everything is the same.

So just want to remind everyone here that we all should keep things in perspective when something like this happens.
Losing a football game sure is insignificant compared to my buddy's wife having to go through this and quite possibly losing a baby.
They are a terrific couple and good friends to have...and they are part of an excellent family.
So please put your Red Raider hard feelings aside and keep my friend's wife in your thoughts and prayers.
I hope to hear and update soon from my buddy.

I have been through this scenario twice with my sister at 22 1/2 weeks with 2 little boys. That her daughter made it as a 22 weeker IS miracle. They say girls are fighters. Fight little one!!!!

All my prayers and thoughts as I know how difficult this can be. I went to 2 funerals in 1 year.

Thank you all.

Update:
Talked to my buddy a bit ago..he said basically it's still a wait and see situation.
They did another ultrasound today and best I could gather from my conversation is that things in the momma's belly were a little better positioned/in a better shape than they were the last two days. She is still dialated some and still some other complications.
I won't go into details, but they are looking to do a procedure tomorrow as an attempt to help keep the baby and all the baby's belongings inside the area of the momma's belly where they ought to be. The way I understand it is that it's a high risk procedure, if something happens it could cause labor...so the doctor has been holding off to on attempting it to this point. I should get an update tomorrow sometime.
Thanks again for the support.

Bad news folks...my buddy called me earlier today, they weren't able to do the procedure and they ended up having to deliver the baby today. Baby didn't survive...but last I heard momma is doing okay now (health wise anyways), I'm sure she's shook up from the whole thing though.
Anyways, thank you all for your support, thoughts and prayers, etc.. You guys and gals are great.

Guys and Gals, Now I must ask you for another round of thoughts and prayers for my friend and his family...

Their 2 year old daughter is now in the hospital.
As I mentioned earlier, their 2 yr old was born way premature. She seems to have had some trouble with her lungs this week and either has pneumonia or some other problem. they haven't been able to get her to eat or drink this week and after several trips to the doctor and hospital this week... Today they had to admit her into the hospital. She was turning blue and having problems I guess breathing.
So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers once again.

TIA

Thank you all once again for your thoughts and prayers. I've been super busy and haven't been on here much to update.
Last week my friends daughter was finally diagnosed with Pneumonia in her lower right part of her lung and RSV (I guess even 2 year olds who were born premature can still get RSV).
Anyways, the hospital got her en route to recovery and they were allowed to get her home yesterday or the day before. So they are safely at home just in time for Christmas. Thanks again for your support.
