Maybe it's just a case of selective perception, and you only hear songs about fools because you're an idiot? It's just a suggestion; it's probably without merit.

I mean, it's not like it's without scientific merit. When you're sad over a relationship, you don't necessarily hear more songs about relationships/break-ups, etc.. over the radio, but you feel like you do. Music's funny like that, though. A song that could be incredibly saddening one minute can also be very empowering the next.

I mean, I'm not saying that "idiot" is an emotion, though. I was simply suggesting an extension of the existing theory.
