...and Bama beats Florida, TCU goes in? Cincy? Boise State? How glorious that would be... especially if they won.

It would be TCU (over Boise and Cincy), but the possibility remains that a one-loss SEC team would remain above them.

If a non big conf. school like TCU could win the BCS, it would turn the system on its head. I would love to see it.

I could see voters bedowngrade the loser of the SEC game to avoid a rematch.

TCU in the championship would be awesome. I think they could pull it off, and I'm not just saying that in a wishful thinking type way.

Also, Texas losing the Big 12 championship rocks. It would ensure that two Big 12 teams would get BCS invites and let's face it - it ain't gonna happen any other way, regardless of what signage the Poke fans held up last night.

Boise would drop out. * would get an at large,

Any other eligible school > Boise State.

The only way Bwaaaaa Estate gets in at this point is if TCU loses and thus, the auto must go to Boyz.

Nah.

When BS went to a bowl game other than its normal hometown Humanitarian, hardly any fans showed up.

The TCU/BS was tabbed as an excellent matchup, but it hurt Boise's local economy because all of the home fans didn't go to the home game... they went to San Diego or wherever the hell the Broncos went last year.

When BS went to the Fiesta Bowl, they bought out their allotment, yes... but just the allotment itself isn't gonna cut it. Unless you're playing LSU in the Superdome, schools are expected to sell waaaaaaay beyond the allotment in order for a full stadium experience. BS can't offer the same butt-in-seat number that bigger schools can.

And thus, for primarily those two reasons, BS stays home in the Humanitarian... unless, of course, they are required by BCS rules to be invited to a BCS game.

OK, people, we can do this!

There are 10 golden tickets!

Current BCS standings (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/bcs.htm) are as follows:

1 Florida

2 Alabama

3 Texas

4 TCU

5 Cincinnati

6 Boise State

7 Georgia Tech

8 LSU

9 Pittsburgh

10 Ohio State

11 Oregon

12 Oklahoma State

13 Iowa

14 Penn State

15 Virginia Tech

16 Wisconsin

As per the Rose Bowl a few years ago, we know that even a lowly 16th-ranked team can get an invite over a higher-ranked team in the name of tradition and butts-in-seats necessity. However, we cannot ignore the rules that only two teams from each conference can get an invite, so let's revise that accordingly...

1 Florida (SEC1)

2 Alabama (SEC2)

3 Texas (B121)

4 TCU (auto1)

5 Cincinnati (BE1)

6 Boise State (non-auto2)

7 Georgia Tech (ACC1)

9 Pittsburgh (BE2)

10 Ohio State (B101)

11 Oregon (P101)

12 Oklahoma State (B122)

13 Iowa (B102)

15 Virginia Tech (ACC2)

The top four go, so there are now six golden tickets left of these eligible teams:

5 Cincinnati (BE1)

6 Boise State (non-auto2)

7 Georgia Tech (ACC1)

9 Pittsburgh (BE2)

10 Ohio State (B101)

11 Oregon (P101)

12 Oklahoma State (B122)

13 Iowa (B102)

15 Virginia Tech (ACC2)

The BCS must take the conference champion if they have not already from the major conferences, so there are now two golden tickets left among these eligible teams:

6 Boise State (non-auto2)

9 Pittsburgh (BE2)

12 Oklahoma State (B122)

13 Iowa (B102)

15 Virginia Tech (ACC2)

You have to select two teams out of those five... I see the BCS selecting Iowa and Va Tech.

Of course, we all know Poke State has another loss coming to them, and there's a few weeks left for rankings to switch up... so moot point, I guess.

tbl -- You stipulate that "Bama beats Florida."

Does that make a difference for TCU? My first thought was that the undefeated SEC champ goes FOR SURE, so the winner of the Bama/Florida game irrelevent for TCU -- their fate would be determined by TX/Nebraska.

Then, I thought that a Bama win actually hurts TCU's chances, as a one-loss Florida team would have a better chance of leapfrogging TCU and making it back to the BCS Championship, than Bama would.

What say you?

I don't know. I don't think the bugeaters are even going to beat the Synder's tomorrow. I think BS will out coach BP tomorrow night.

OK, people! Another ranking OUT! (http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcs) Let's re-do this, shall we?

1- Florida (SEC1)
2- Alabama (SEC2)
3- Texas (B121)
4- TCU (auto1)
5- Cincy (BE1)
6- Boise State (nonauto2)
7 - Ga Tech (ACC1)
8- Oregon (P101)
9- Pitt (BE2)
10- tOSU (B101)
11- Iowa (B102)
12- Okla St (B122)
13- Penn St (B103)
14- Va Tech (ACC2)

Once again, the top four are automatically IN!

Out of these remaining eligible teams (and I made a mistake last time - you must have nine wins and be in the BCS top 14 to be eligible for a BCS bowl at-large spot), no more than two teams from a conference can go...
[quote]5- Cincy (BE1)
6- Boise State (nonauto2)
7 - Ga Tech (ACC1)
8- Oregon (P101)
9- Pitt (BE2)
10- tOSU (B101)
11- Iowa (B102)
12- Okla St (B122)
14- Va Tech (ACC2)

And the top conference champions automatically go...

6- Boise State (nonauto2)
9- Pitt (BE2)
11- Iowa (B102)
12- Okla St (B122)
14- Va Tech (ACC2)

Once again, we are left with five contenders for an at-large. Penn State could also be considered for an at-large, if Iowa isn't selected.

I think it would be very important to consult the bowls that normally selection the SEC and Big 12 champions. Are they determined to keep their tie-ins with these conferences, or would they break them for more butts in seats?
