I was thinking about how Willie took over the KU game last yr when Blake was hurt and kept us in that game, Im wondering if he will put up 40 or more in a game this yr?

There will be a few games where we will need him to get 40. But he likes to make good passes and try to be a good team player as much as he does score points. The first 2 games he could have scored as many points as he wanted. But he isn't really a ball hog like that. I think he still needs to shoot the ball a little better, that's really the only problem his first 2 games. He's 1-7 from 3 so far.

I would love for us to go all season without him putting up 40 unless it's in a game in which he shoots between 75-100% from the field, and still manages to get to the line about 10 times, converting all of them. If Willie's putting up 40, chances are, it'll be at the expense of the rest of our offense, not at the behest of it.

I'd rather see him average 10 assists per than 25 points per. I'd rather see him average under 2 turnovers per than either of the above two... if he's getting any extended minutes playing point, anyway.

As such, WW probably doesn't need 40 per quite yet.

I wouldnt say we have any go to guys as of yet other than Willie, maybe as the season goes on but not yet. Now we do have guys who can get a shot off but we will have to see

WW IS capable. but I don't see it happening given the wealth of talent around him.Thirty points is likely but forty,not so much.
