Been poking through the record books lately, and after a brief discussion with a friend, came up with the idea for a fun game:

"You Know You Used to Be a Wishbone Team When..."

I'll start.

You know you used to be a Wishbone Team when Landry Jones is already 13th all-time in career passing yards.

You know you used to be a Wishbone Team when 4-year letterman Chris Brown is still behind two quarterbacks in career rushing touchdowns.

BOOOOO! That has nothing o do with former wishbone glory!

You know you used to be a wishbone team when you only completed 5 passes on the road and still won 82-42.

OR...

when you complete zero passes at home and still win 49-0.

(Sucks to be Colorado... :D )

You know you used to be a wishbone team when your all-time winningest quarterback completes fewer passes in 4 years than your current starter does in 4 games.

You know you used to be a wishbone team, when your record for most rushing yards in a game is over 700 yards.

When your entire backfield (starters and backups) averages more than five yards per carry (1971).

When your backup halfbacks get more playing time in the NFL than they did at your school (Mike Thomas).

When your average fumbles per game was even with your number of pass completions per game (pick a year).

I thought, according to Bosworth, it was, "He'd catch three passes a game, two of them for touchdowns, and then spend the rest of the time b*tching about not being able to win the Heisman."

I'm assuming you're talking about Keith Jackson, and not Gresham...

You know you used to be a wishbone team when you cost your superstar, silver shoe-wearing halfback not one, but two Heisman trophies because you were so good there was no need for him to ever play a full game.

You know you used to be a Wishbone Team when half of your All-American wide receiver's yards for the season come on one play (Billy Brooks vs. Texas, 1975).
