Notre Dame will go after an established HC, IMO. Money, obviously, will not be an issue, but they are not going to pay north of $4mil for anyone else other than a marquee name. I really think they will make a run at Urban Meyer at the conclusion of the season and try to make him the second $6million man(Lee Majors was the first....;-)). If they strike out against him, I predict they will go after an up and comer HC like the guy at Cincy, Boise, or TCU. Notre Dame football is too big for someone that does not have HC experience.

What big names have they had? Ty Winningham? Pulease......the last "big name" they hired was Lou Holtz, and say what you want but that era was a pretty dang good time to be a fan of the fighting irish. They won a NC and for the most part fielded very good teams year in and year out--and absolutely dominated USC(Lou was 9-1-1 against the condoms).

We here in Alabama experimented with non-established HC's and it was disastrous. We finally woke up and realized that we needed to open up the checkbook and get a proven HC commodity. Our tradition alone could not carry us. Notre Dame--love them or hate them--is in the same echelon with us and you guys. I predict they will go after an established HC....

Im hearing something like a 10 yr plan
If I remember right Yall hired and fired Faster than Katy changes her drawers.
Yall never let anybody Develop , Kept expectin a MNC by the 2nd year and then firein after the 3rd .

The Plan the Donors and such are lookin at is
Give Josh 10 full years to develop the Team and coaching staff, Give him a Blank check if you will to Hire and fire assistants as he sees fit .

Sounds like it Just mite work to me

Josh can go down as the Longest active ND coach in history

What I can't believe is the contract/package deal that Weis got at Notre Dame and without head coaching experience. What's even more unbelievable is the $18 million buyout if they terminate/fire him early to hire someone else. ND screwed themselves in so many ways.

Josh will be great someday... lots of poise and patience... but he needs head coaching experience before heading to a big program like ND... to avoid what Charlie Weis did there to himself.

Its the same old thing.if you have a lossing season at OU ,you are out.the fans will not put up with a loosing concept.maybe all of these players getting hurt is a good sign that the coaches are straining the top 20 players and not teaching football to the rest.football is not a monkey see monkey do.It has always been a team sport for the whole team.Stoops has been mising this for the past couple of years. Its really to bad that he does not look the other players as stars. They want there chance, but held back for those stars going Pro.Its time to get a coach that has dreams for all of his team, not just his.Stoops has cheated a lot of young men this year, and it time for some new blood,Sonner Blood to take over and give all the players for the next 30 years to be moore than a (Car Salesman)its time to bring back the word team, all members.....thanks

It's going to be very difficult for Stanford to compete at the highest levels long-term due to their academic requirements. I don't see them ever being a consistent top 10 team.
