Anyone jump to the 9700 today?

BBDM Device Swap worked OK, but some apps running funny/not running..

Plan to sort through all the pre-load trash now that work is done.

Checking to see if anyone has/is going through the switch..

I'm on the 8900.

This guy likes it:

I love my 8900, and still learning about its capabilities. There's not enough 3G in my neck of the woods to consider changing. The 9700 looks like a good unit though.

I was on an 83xx Curve for over a year when it suddenly stopped working...

TIP: 7 month old Chocolate Labs suck at using a Blackberry!

A friend has an 8900 and he loves it. That's the one I originally wanted to get before they screwed up my order, which led me to the 9700. So far its fine, but the "3G" that's supposed to be all the rage, is spotty at best. My Curve always got a decent connection to the net.

This 9700 either works at light speed, or times out..

Still got 12 days to return and get an 8900 if the 3G servers don't fix themselves...

AT&T's 3G network is terrible. I'm on the Bold, and once my contract expires, I'm looking elsewhere.

9700 is a great phone, just a terrible network.

Does the 9700 run strictly on 3G, or is there an option to switch over to Edge? I know when our family comes to visit from LA, the all change their iPhones from 3G to Edge. It gives better service and saves battery life since it's not always looking for service.

Don't believe you can choose Edge over 3G..

You can turn the 3g off and run UMA..

Also, it does allow you to turn off the radio function(s) altogether and run from wi/fi. Not sure how this effects battery life though..

Carrier is T-Mobile...
