Did we give up mcfarlands redshirt? He played at the end of the game. Or are you allowed a certain amount of playtime.

That wasn't the first time he's played this year. He played against idaho state and tulsa and maybe some others. He isn't redshirting.

If he is as good as his billing, he wouldn't stay 5 years anyway.

He does stand out. Sort of a Loadholt shape, like a Transformer.

i thought if you had 5 stars by your name in high school you could perform superhuman feats and would be NFL-ready by september 1st... strange...

He and RJ Washington looked like a dandy duo in the 4th.

McFarland is one of the reasons I am not worried if McCoy does go pro.King and Washington are two reasons I'm not worried if Beal goes pro. With Adrian Taylor to provide experience and leadership to the young DTs and Alexander giving the same for the young DEs we should still be solid on D next year even if we lose Beal,McCoy.

Beal will stay

I dunno about that..He does see Sam in a sling and Gresh on crutches every day to remind him why he shouldn't...

Just because sam got hurt, that doesn't mean everyone should leave early. You need to physically strengthen your body and you have to be about as high a draft pick this year as you would be next year to make it a clear choice to go early.

Rookie salary cap coming... Beal should go pro. Plenty on the roster to take over. Good rookies coming in at linebacker as well. And Nelson showing he's a player.

Looking good going into next year.

Not sure Beal would be as high of a pick as some of you think he is.

I'm not sure either. I think he is unreal, but people that actually know how to evaluate (i.e. not me) have said he projects to an OLB at the next level. If so, he may not have the speed to warrant a 1st round selection as a LB.

Has anyone else heard that?

If he is converted to LB it'll be in a 3-4 scheme(think James Harrison of the steelers) and he has enough speed for that... I don't think he'll be a 1st rd pick but even if he has a ridiculous year next year I still don't think he'll be a 1st rounder... Doesn't get enough media love.

He should go. It worked out well for Curtis Lofton.

I know I know, I just don't see him going. Thats just my opinion. Like someone else said in this thread, he will be a OLB in the league. His return would kick a** though. I have also heard that the coaches want to put a little weight onto R. Lewis to play the hybrid DE.

I was just TOTALLY blown away when Sam decided to come back.. Obviously he shouldn't have.. Take the money and run..

Man, I really wish just once we could have a big, fast LB. Ronnel is our only shot at this right now, and hearing that the coaches want to make him into a DE just makes me sad. Goodbye two years of his eligibility as he learns another position and tries to gain weight...
