He's had a couple off off games (understatement @ Neb), but earlier in the year he was exceptionally accurate for a frosh. I think he'll prove to be an extraordinary player before his time is up at OU.

To bad everyone doesn't play Defense like aTm. Swing passes to Murray and the quick screen to Broyles usually get defended a little better.

True, and that's why as good as we looked tonight, we must take that with a grain of salt. I think we really did see some improvement tonight, but stiffer tests await. We need to see continued improvement the rest of the year, as we have become accustomed to under Stoops' tenure.

Will need a little more for Texas Tech... but by the looks of it, there QB situation isn't settled yet.

Defense is amazing this year!

LJ had a great game. I will say this tho...the 1 int: dude...take some smoke off of the ball for Chrissakes! He looked like he was trying to strike out A-Rod with that ball! TOUCH my friend...touch! You don't have to put it through a piece of plywood EVERY time you throw it!

Once LJ gets the touch part of the passing game down, he will be unstoppable. He has a rifle for an arm. But sometimes the situation calls for a howitzer.

If you don't know the difference, go enlist.

Yeah, at times Landry thinks he is Rick "The Wild Thing" Vaughn. If he takes a little off of that pass, it hits Kenney in stride. Instead he had to dive for it and its an INT. Landry also missed a bunch of reads. He threw to a guy in traffic when there was another wide open. Its just a learning curve. He is doing a good job after being tossed into the mix as a freshmen. He is learning as he goes. I have confidence in him and I bet next year we will be able to tell the difference because of his experience.

Landry is making a habit of hanging his receivers out to dry...in particular Murray and Broyles. Landry just hasn't been the same sans mustache. Don't get me wrong, he's still one of the best FR in the nation but with the mustache he could turn it up to 11.

BTW there was a point in the game when I was REALLY impressed with how he has matured. We were on like the A&M 8 yard line, and here comes an unblocked A&M blitzer directly into the face of Landry. Jones gets it away in time and does not lose yardage with a sack. The ball was not perfectly thrown nor was it caught. But it was a great play by Landry.

This is a season where you have to look for and be thankful for the little things.

Quite right. On the reverse play that LJ blocked two linemen was crazy. Those two linemen could have just plowed thru him and made the play. If I had seen that kind of lack of effort from someone on our team, I would have probably had to replace my t.v. but thankfully it wasn't so - cheers :D . Things might not have gone perfect for our team this year and we have alot of boneheadedness but our effort has been great.

Here (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OU/article.aspx?subjectid=92&articleid=20091116_92_0_NORMAN803797) is what Stoops is saying about Landry today.

He’s a young guy that’s still learning and maturing in the job, and there’s bound to be some rough spots.

What's Landry's TD's Stats 21? He will have 3 games to get 12 more and break the record Sam set. Also he can pass Colt Mccoy's at 28 with 7 more. He also missed about 2 games, i think with him it is all confidence, not everyone is a competitor like Sam Bradford and Landry when he is confident can tear it up. That will come over the Summer and Spring.

I'd rather have wins than records...lighting up Idahoe State, Tulsa and aTm for meaningless TD's and becoming bowl eligible in the 10th game of the season tends to put a damper on records.

Will Rogers says...

"If you don't like the football in Oklahoma, wait a few days."

"If you don't like the fans in Oklahoma, wait a few wins."

Of course, Will Rogers also never met an Oklahoma quarterback he didn't like. ;)

How good was Archie Manning? How good is Aaron Rogers? How good was Sam Bradford?

Here's the deal: Each of these guys is awesome at playing QB. Better than that. Better than most of all of their fellow QBs are, ever.

Unless you don't give them an offensive line. Then, you get to see Archie run for his life, for his WHOLE CAREER. Or you see Aaron start superhuman and then turn shellshocked. Or you can watch Sam get his shoulder crushed. Twice.

Give Landry a break, and give him confidence, and he'll be a monster. MONSTER, I tell ya! Kid just needs to grow up a bit and get used to not being hit every down.

Other QBs, including Sam, piled up plenty of their total stats against poor defenses like aTm's. And all QBs do better when they have time than when they are hurried as they are against good defenses. But some QBs are lousy and inaccurate all the time - at least Landry plays well when given time. We'll see how he develops against better competition.
