hey i have one of those medals :)

far left on the bottom row of 3s... the national defense service medal. got in in the first gulf war. didnt get injured so i never got a purple heart, never did anything i consider particularly heroic, so the corps. never gave me one of those nice bronze stars.. i believe the rest of those pictured are vietnam exclusive awards, but my hats off to the man.

it really was my pleasure serving. i come from a long line of soldiers, sailors, and airmen. my cousin and i were the first marines in the family as far as we have been able to tell.

but i got paid to shoot bad guys and blow **** up. there really is no job better... even with the whole imminent threat of death thing goin on. makes you appreciate life a whole lot more.
