Can we decline a bowl?

Actually wondered about this myself. I don't think with league contracts/obligations you can decline because the payouts go in part to the other teams in the league.

Maybe you could decline and pay the bowl payout from your own coffer.

The extra months practice is incredibly valuable.

The exposure increases visibility in other markets helping recruiting.

Everything but BCS is a possibility, Cotton doesn't have to take the number two big 12 team, they just pick second. Normally it is the number two team they take, but they could pick an 8-4 Oklahoma vs a 9-3 Oklahoma State, all boils down to tickets sales, who would travel better etc But normally it is big 12 number.

Alamo or Sun, according to the Sports Blitz last night.

Or Independence. Ugh.

If we win out it will likely be Holiday, if we lose again we are looking at the Alamo, Sun, or the Independence

Especially this year, that extra month of practice will be huge for our O-line and Landry going into next yr.

+1, I have been at all the home games and they look good. Lookin forward to the Oregon game, and think they have a good chance of winning at USC.

On the topic of the thread, I am hoping the Sun or Holiday, driving distance for me to see my Sooners for the first time in a few years!

you guys are assuming we will be bowl eligible.. every game we have left is winnable for the other team.. we are garbage.. but hey.. that's ok, there's always next year it could be worse and blah blah blah..

at least we won't be embarrassed in another BCS game in prime time this year..

Hopefully, but I nor the coaches or fans have noticed any improvement with all of the practice the line has had last spring, this summer or so far this season. I also don't think texass fans are going to be intimidated by Landry Jones getting an extra month of work.

We need to host a Bowl game in Norman. We don't travel very well.
