So does the guy in the booth; it's obvious this team can't run the offense we ran last season, yet we still are attempting to call plays at the LOS; would it kill them to huddle up?

Why do we go for it on fourth down and pull out a play that has zero margin for error...single receiver rollout, flip-pitch to weakside, etc. This team does not need to shrink its margin of error on its own, but it does.

We have an OC that is way out of touch with the players he has. He keeps calling the plays that he called last year when he was called a good OC. Stoops has said it all year long "We are doing the same stuff we did last year - it just isn't working this year"

WHY DON'T WE CHANGE THEN???????????????????

Landry Jones just isn't quite as consistently accurate as Bradford. We got spoiled.

Amazing (not really) that even the announcers were calling Wilson's plays. Painful to watch it unfold.

Pellini's defense looked good. (Duh).

The OU Defense looked good as usual. What happened to English and Eldridge? Injury update?

5-0

In all statistical categories, EXCEPT turnovers we won. More first downs, more passing yardage, more total yards we win. That is cold hard facts. The reason we lost this game was turnover margin. Plain and simple. We take care of the ball and we win, I'm convinced.

32 incompletions/5 interceptions. Pathetic. :(

Our defense could have defeated anyone today. Unfortunately, the rest of our team was not up to the task.

Where are the "fire Brent Venables" threads today?

when was the last balanced offense and defense?

03?

Had to be back when we had two coordinators that were pretty much consistently good, unlike the two we have now that are hot and cold.

It was in the bag with the swagger. Mike took it to the desert when he left. ;)

I don't think our defense was the problem tonight. ;)

Nope, but without the bag containing said sooner magic and swagger we can't put a good offense and defense together in the same season. It was tough enough when we had the magic and the swagger.

There were definite chances for Sooner magic in that game, especially have Broyles' return to the 50. But it would not be.

Sooner Magic has been stached away!

YES!!!

Coaches are notoriously stubborn and therefore unwilling to learn from mistakes or to make changes. I think Bob may be getting to the point, if he's not there already, when he needs to get "uncomfortable." Comfort leads to complacency, which leads to mediocrity, which leads to failure, which leads to... huge contract buy-outs? :D

Tough to align great offenses and great defenses in college. Rolling recruitment and staggered years of player eligibility... and the really good ones are gone after 3 years.

Defense will take a hit next year when McCoy, Jackson, Clayton will go pro for sure. I'm sure Beal and Lewis will go pro. Last year of the salary cap and after seeing what happened to Bradford and Gresham, you know our players are thinking about it.

Offense will be better... the o-line will need a lot of work, Jones will need to work on accuracy, and the WR will continue to improve. Not having Caleb hurt a little last night but Kenney stepped up on a few plays.

Watching the game last night, I could have sworn that Nebraska had our playbook. But in reality, the only thing Nebraska (and other teams) have to do is watch OU game film from this year and last, then, they WILL have our playbook.

Nebraska just did their homework.
