My friend and I were at Quail awaiting the start of a movie and we head over to A Store Divided and saw some Q autographed memorabilia and commented on it and this guy said he likes all the Q autographed memorabilia and we look up and it's him! What a nice guy! He said that even if we didn't buy anything he would still want to talk football. Apparently he works there.

I sat behind him at the season opener last year vs. Tenn Chattanooga. His mom was there and she appeared to be a very proud mama.

As well she should be.

Say what you want about his coordinators, but Bob Stoops has brought in some fine young men to represent this institution.

Mr Griffin is just one of them.

I haven't seen a more determined player in the Sooner uniform.

Yeah, his NFL and CFL were pretty much a bust. Sounds like he pi$$ed off the Rough Riders (or is that Roughriders [dang ole CFL teams with the same name...]) coach and got the ax at the airport.

How the hell can Q **** anyone off? Sounds like the coach was an ***.

Apparently according to the story, Q pulled himself out of a preseason game and told the coach he didn't need to play anymore in a meaningless pre-season game and risk injury. The coach got pi$$ed and cut him at the airport after the team finished the game. Don't know if the coach is a hot-head or if Q was being a jerk about it. I just happened to see it as I googled Q yesterday as a lark.

Man, I wish Q was still playing. Do you think he is? Maybe he works at JW's store during his offseason and plays in an arena league or some other league during the summer?

Don't think he is playing football anywhere.

Funny story. We stayed at the same hotel as the team in Waco his senior (or junior??) year. The night before the game, the players were running all over the hotel and up and down the elevators.
We were getting on the elevator with several players, including Q, and asked him for an autograph. While he was signing, my wife tells him that we are from Humble, TX. Q's response: "Hey, I'm from Humble!"
His teammates really laid it on thick. One of them says "Why do you think she told you that?" It embarassed him a little, but he took it good natured.
He is a great guy.

Great college player, but a bad case of the fumble-itis did him in at Denver.

Roy Finch is gonna be fun to watch. Isn't he a little guy? OUr linemen are a bit bigger now than they were in the early Stoops tenure when opponents used to lose him behind them. :D
