Might be to combat the tradtional run game of KSU. Was he in for Clayton? If so, that is my guess.

Haven't seen him since.

In there on short yardage for Clayton.

They have been alternating a lot for some reason

K-state is a running team and, it is K-state. Why not get him in there.

Played the strong-side alternating with Clayton. Keenan probably needed the rest after some of those monster hits.

Need to get Box some playing time (that sounds bad, doesn't it?)... some reps at linebacker to make sure we have experience... just in case.

And how about that Ronnell Lewis... last week's hit on the punt receiver. Hard hitter.

Since he will likely be replacing Clayton next year, I think it is a pretty good idea to get him out there as much as possible.

Tom Wort and Ronnell Lewis to rotate to the Mike position then?

Any word on Reynolds' request for a sixth year?

We'll be well-stocked at LB. Will need to search out some new D-line guys... most are graduating or leaving early (McCoy).

Ibiloye replaces Clayton.

Box went in for Clayton, but was actually playing MIKE. Reynolds was sliding over to the stronside.

They used this in run situations.

You're right. I looked at the game again last night... was that to cover the middle of the field pass situations? Box is better against the pass.

Thanks for the clarification. I know that I saw Ibiloye in there, as well, and they do that on passing downs.

Ibiloye subbed in on obvious pass downs (for Reynolds), and played nickel, Clayton moved in to LB.

Box subbed in on run downs (for Clayton), and played MLB, Reynolds moved over to SLB.

It didn't work to well last night. Our D was caught on the blitz and we made Gregory look like Tim Tebow.
