I haven't heard those words together since 2001. I believe its time to bring it back.

Sooner Magic is always present, it is just sometimes not as noticeable as others.

"Sooner magic" is what happens when a team makes an "incredible play!!" at a time in the game when your senses are dull and you have concluded the outcome...but the magic thinks otherwise.

As with all magic, there is a simple slight-of-hand at work. However, in football magic, there is no such animal.. just pure POWER, QUALITY, and EXECUTION ... like the teams of old at OU.

The magic can only happen to a team when that team BELIEVES and fights to the end with the FAITH that it will overcome..no matter the odds.

Can this year's team come back from a 17 pt. deficit?

Can any OU team in the past 7 years come back from a 17 point deficit?

Only the 2000 team I can recall...and hey.. they won the National Championship!

2007 Lofton scoop and score in the 4th QR.

2006 Paul Thompson to Germaine Gresham from OUr own 1 yard line in the Big 12 CG.

2005 Clint Ingram INT at the end of the game in the Holiday Bowl.

2004 Jason White TD pass in the 4th against A&M.

2002 & 2003 Alabama games: Fake punt and Renaldo Works run.

In fact: 2006 Fiesta Bowl INT/Pick 6 with 1:35 left against Boise. At the time we had it. Defense blew it.

We have had several of those moments since 2001, just a matter of opinion.

I'd just as soon win every game by 20+ points and not need Sooner Magic.

Win by 20+ but still have a stout defensive showing... that would be a clean game.

I think the REnaldo Works run v Alabama is the closest thing since Roy Williams.

This was pretty good IMO.

yes but, I dont know if you have noticed that ever since 2000 there just doesn't seem to be as much pride in the name on the front of the jersey as far as players go. Definitely not saying that goes for every one but you get my drift.

How about converting on 1st and 45 and then finishing the drive when big mo was on the other bench? A little magic.

I'd say the first and 45 series was a lot of Sooner Magic to reverse dumb penalties. I couldn't believe it when I saw it and rewound the TIVO twice.

At that point reality set in on the KSU bench: We are their overlords....

But dang, was anyone expecting their tenacity up til then. That Banks is a dangerous little man.
