It's not like this team has had any of its other star players go down this season or anything... :(

I swear I have never seen more injuries to key play-makers on one team before.

At least injuries haven't been a problem this year...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Stoops gets squashed by a meteor from outer-freaking-space next week.

I'm stayin positive about Saturday.

In all seriousness, I'd move him to wide receiver next season. That's his only pro future, imo.

When has Demarco NOT been banged up?

Jason White thinks this guy is injury prone.

Fine, it was me. I wasn't paying attention, hit this homeless chick with my car one night, only it turned out she wasn't homeless - she was a gypsy, and she lodges into my windshield just like happened to that nurse in Florida couple years back. Park her in my garage, lodged into the car, and try to figure out where to go with things next. Eventually, I settle on "Hope she goes away."

So, anyhow, she takes a week to die, begging for help for most of the time, and I'm guessing she put some kind of curse on me and/or the team, mostly based on all the incantations she wrote on the car with her own blood, and the "Gypsyco, Curses our Specialty" business cards I found in her head scarf once she finally expired. Plus I had all that Sooner stuff in the garage, like where I painted "As go the Sooners, so go I!" and, "There's no better way to punish me than to harm my favorite team -- that being the Sooners, a college football squad for the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahahoma. Man, anything happens to that team, I'd be devastated, I tell you," and even "I'd rather eat broken glass and die a slow agonizing death than watch the Sooners lose a game, or for one of their players to experience any sort of injury which results in reduced playing time for them."

In hindsight, I wish I'd put something in my garage about USC or Florida or something.

I really thought I'd handled it, because afterward I went and gave $20 to the first Carney I saw at the State Fair, figuring they were probably at least part gypsy. Could be I picked the wrong one, and mine was just toothless redneck (the Carney, I mean). My bad.

It's a twisted ankle, people. He's practicing.

Maybe no KU game for DeMarco, but every RB in the Stoops era has done this. Especially those who don't have good blocking and get dog-piled at the line of scrimmage. Every RB I know has twisted an ankle before.

As for people calling him injury prone... how is it that two helmet shots to your knees doesn't cause severe knee injury?

SoonerInSpringdale
10/22/2009, 12:06 PM
That was Jason White that called him that, not me.

Smitty not working the knee muscles enough during boot camp.

I think Jonathan Miller is going to be a better back anyway. Let's get the young guys all out there.

Based on what? Running up the middle on some scrubs against a directional school and Tulsa? Demarco has been a stud since day one.

Sheesh.

Since all we are going to do is run up the middle and get tackled at the line of scrimage, we might as well as let the B teamers play.

Miller has a fast first step and seems to have probably the best track speed of the backs I've seen. However, he is young and like stated above, even OUr weak O-Line will eventually knock Idaho State and TU off the ball for a big gain.

I was never impressed with Calhoun, even back when he was in HS... there wasn't that raw, edgy, flashiness AD and DeMarco's film had. Maybe he can be a power back soon, but we need a lot of help from the O-Line before OUr backs can look anywhere close to even decent. It's quite amazing what Murray's done so far all things considered, really.

I agree. You can't replace him. No one on the roster compares to DM, IMSO of course.

He's a beast no doubt. With a healthy DM, last year in Miami would have been a different story, IMSO.

One of these days we'll get to read all the threads about how Murray coulda been the greatest ever except for all the injuries. Yup, a regular Gayle Sayers.

...and don't get me wrong, I think he's a good football player, but that's about where it ends.

He's had about a dozen different injuries in 4 years now. Granted, any guy who puts the pads on is a warrior. But he is injury prone.
