Did Dave not feel this was worth busting out the emergency alert thing?

OU Student Threats

Students at the University of Oklahoma share concerns after learning about a possible threat. Sources tell Fox25, a student in the Phd program threatened to come to the Zarrow Center on campus and shoot everyone. The incident was reported to police but students did not get notification from the campus wide alert system.
OU Administrators said, "we're not at liberty to discuss any specific student situation but the university is taking steps to safeguard students faculty and staff."
University Press Secretary Jay Doyle says, "we are working with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the situation. OU police declined to comment.
Sources tell Fox25, the Phd student has been expelled but the university did not confirm if he is still enrolled or employed at OU.

From what I heard, the guy didn't really try to get into the stadium. But this is jacked up none the less.

Everyone knows that unless you hear it from PBS, NPR or BBC that it has some kinda political spin on it.

yeah, but when they found out about that one the threat was in hundreds of bloody chunks and wasn't really a threat anymore.
Someone saying they might walking into some building i've never heard of before on campus and start shooting is a little different.

(Plus I'm pretty sure the emergency alert system started after the VT shootings, not after the dude blew himself up.)

College of Education

Generous gifts from the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation and the Maxine and Jack Zarrow Family Foundation, which the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education matched, endowed the Zarrow Center for Learning Enrichment. In the fall semester of 2000, Dr. James Martin became the first Zarrow Chair and serves as the Zarrow Center Director. OU President David Boren gave the Zarrow Center dedication address on May 1, 2001

According to the map, it's on Constitution, over by the golf course and, coincidentally, right by the OU Police station.

Any threat is worth notifying the students, no matter if it MIGHT be exaggerated or not
