Yesterday was such a rough day for me...I drank like I was hangin' out with Vince Young's Posse. I wish I had gone too...but it's best I stayed Home tonight...got lots of stuff done around the Ponderosa.

I assume the rumbling that I'm hearing through my walls means the concert started?

Maybe Fergie has indigestion?

Back in May I lived a couple blocks west of campus. Was kinda looking forward to sitting out the door and listening. :(

I wonder if Bono found what he was looking for in Norman?

Heh.

And it's like a game day, except 3/4 of the crowd doesn't have ANY DAMN CLUE how to get back to the highway and is trying to cause a wreck at every intersection.

I had to sit next to ****ing aggies. And my fiance was stuck in a rehearsal in Brooklyn.

Other than those two things, it ****ing rocked.

How full was the upper deck?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of U2 but this would have been a need concert to attend I think.

How was the weather in Norman for this thing?

Did they bring their cement and gas truck from the parade with them?

Did they sing "Saturday Bloody Saturday" in honor of the RRSO?

Upper decks were tarped off. Crowd was similar to watching an OU game under Blake. Lower bowl and south stands mostly full, but still plenty of empties.

Petro - the upper decks were empty. They didn't sell enough tickets up there, so everyone who had tickets up there (like PG and myself) were given tickets lower down. We wound up in Section 5, Row 42.

Pretty good seats, so it was mostly OK.

SicEm, it was chilly, but not freezing cold, and really windy. U2's smoke effects didn't come off so well with the wind, or else one of their finales would have been spectacular. Bono was wearing a suit with red lasers shooting out from all over. It would have been bad-*** if the wind hadn't blown all the smoke away.

No, they sang it in honor of the protesters in Iran.

They sold seats for the Rolling Stones in the upper deck. Were there aerial assplosions and such that would have endangered people or did they just do that because the upper deck folks wouldn't be able to see under the canopy of the U2 set?

I think they did it because there were only about 50,000 tickets sold. No reason to leave a couple of thousand people up top when you can move them lower.

I asked that as a couple of youtube videos look like that at other venues...if you were sitting up high...you couldn't hardly see anything unless you like watching ants crawl out from under the toy spaceship you paid for.
