The defense is outstanding

Played great today. They did enough to win the game and almost but didn't get the help they needed from the offense.

BV had a great game plan that completely suffocated Texas in the first half. It seemed they used a different philosophy in the 2nd half and the Texas offense was a little more successful. Can anyone help with the reason for that change? Seemed the unsettled or chaotic OU defense kept the Texas offense guessing and out of synch in the first half but didn't do as much of that in the second half.

Any thoughts?

No one should complain about the D today. They played about as well as they could. Once again, not having Sam and Gresham is the difference in this game.

I think our defense ran more zone coverage in the 2nd half

I think the 2nd half defense adjustments were made in anticipation of what Texas would do to adjust to the absolute confusion we created in the first half. They might have ran more in the second half, but the D played lights out all day.

I'm a BV basher and today was nothing but great by the defense. It was a great game plan that had Texas absolutely confused for the majority of the game. Defense did enough to win the game today for sure but got let down by the offense. Wish we could have gotten one of the pick 6's though.

Outstanding effort from the D and great scheming from BV. The first half pressure had Texas reeling. Seemed like we laid off a bit in the 2nd half but still a great game by the D.
We've been pretty fortunate to have had some pretty damn good receivers and offensive linemen since 2000. This group may have talent but they haven't been able to step in like we've seen others do in recent years. Every team has to replace players and we've been just as good as any for a while but it looks like we've hit a little blip.
The injuries are huge. Gresham possibly more so than Sam. With Jermaine we get an unstoppable receiver and it would take coverage away from the other young guys and maybe let them make some plays and gain confidence.
Maybe KW just doesn't have the horses or maybe Texas' D is just that good. Whatever it is, our offensive play/play calling did not impress.
A big thanks to the players and coaches and here's to a speedy recovery to all OUr injured players.

With a year like we're having on offense we've got to somehow put those gift picks and long-pass plays all the way to the EZ. When a QB is the last to make a tackle we've just got to make another play and take it all the way. Same thing on those pass play break-aways, we just have to take it all the way to the house like Broyles did.

Just a shame it takes losses to say we have a really good defense. Offensive woes have made us realize this.

Your defense played great today. Sloppy performance by both offenses but both defenses played well.
