I'm not a gambler by nature (just too cheap) but I was forced to put my money where my mouth was with a horribly obnoxious Texas fan at work today. He gave me even.... You guys can't make me go face this Arsehat Monday without my hand out. Hook-em left and Boomer Sooner.

Fixed.

You're talking to the wrong hombre on that "fix". Never said I want anyone fired, ever. Just want some fundamental and recurring issues corrected is all. Instead, anytime someone says, "Hey, this keeps happening and we should fix it", the crybabies come out and translate it into, "You're trying to run our coaches out of town!"

It's too bad there isn't any room for reasonable football analysis on this site. To be a "member", you either have to stay within the very restrictive bounds of a few sunshine pumpers, or just learn to keep your opinions to yourself.

Congratulations! You've taken the "forum" out of SF.com. "Fixed", my ***.

Oh...I've been a Sooner fan since our home and home with you guys a few years back. I really enjoyed my trip out there and the OU fans were by far the best I have ever been around on a road game. I was treated like I was for the home team. Before that trip I had always pulled for whoever was going to benefit Bama the most. Since then I always pull for the Sooners.....and I have the hat to prove it. :)

This arm-chair quarterbacking gets easier and easier each year. Thinking about having a phone installed next to my chair so I have a direct line to the sidelines.

Well, I lost my bet with the arsehat, but it's all good. If Bradford hadn't gone down it would have been a different ball game. I think every Texas fan in the world knows that too. Of course they wouldn't admit it, but you,me and them all know it.

All of the elite teams have those years where they do not play up to the expectations. Believe me, I know. It looks like it might just be the Sooner's turn for that year. I'm not one of those fans that thinks it is always some internal conflict, some type of race war or a conspiracy of some type. I just think it's like a bad day at the office for us normal people. It happens, there isn't a real reason for it...it just happens. Don't sweat it though guys. OU has tons of talent, a great coaching staff, and great fans to support them. The Sooners will be back to kickin' arse in no time. I haven't had time to browse the board....would someone mind giving me the latest on Bradford?

Most likely having surgery, most likely out for the season.

Not making any determinations about NFL vs coming back for his senior year.

He was supposed to discuss the first issues this afternoon but cancelled the press conference to get more info.

"Reasonable football analysis???"

You're ****ing kidding, right? I guess if everybody here went "KW is a buffoon, Vulnerables takes it in the pooper" then this would be a "reasonable" site.

Just admit it. You're a hater. You hate your life. You hate your wife. You hate your job. You hate the Sooners. You hate the coaches. Etc., etc., etc.

It would suck to be you.

Guess you can't read, even when specifically asked to. I never said anything of the sort. That's the real problem around here, people who categorize someone who talks football as a raving lunatic calling for heads, and people who are too friggin' dumb to know the difference. And you're one of the key offenders.

I never said I was right, just said, "Hey, here are the problems I see when I watch the games. I think the source of the issue is coaching." And guess what, I provided an argument to support that fact. But a friggin' dumb*** like yourself translates that as, "FIRE EVERYONE!!!" If you just stuck to having a different opinion, YOU could be categorized as reasonable. But instead, since you can't come up with ANY valid counterargument, you resort to calling people names and straight lying about what I said (if you even read it, which I highly doubt). Whatever. **** you.

I'm perfectly happy in MY life. That's because I can separate emotion from an argument and see things rationally. I don't have to see a differing opinion as an insult to my manhood and start screaming at people. Honestly, that's where YOU FAIL miserably as a moderator. If I had my way, I'd see you thrown in here with the rest of us, because you clearly have no ability to judge what's right and what's wrong in a f*cking FORUM. Why don't you look up that word, since you clearly don't know what it means.

I love the Sooners, but am not dumb enough to think that nothing is wrong. Since we win most of our games, it only makes sense to discuss what could be improved. Honestly, what good does reminiscing about all the great things we accomplish do when there's no effort to fix the things that don't work? OU has great tradition, and I love being a part of that. But right now, there are problems. Since that's what's relevant at this time (with a 3-3 record), it's what SHOULD be discussed.

Finally - yes, the "Woe is us" threads get annoying. But you know what, we're ALL Sooners. As I said before, some people use this place as their means of venting. If it annoys you, ignore it. Is that really all that hard? Not for me. How miserable do you have to be that you have to try and make life miserable for everyone that isn't just like you?

Oh, and if I didn't make it clear before, **** you. I'd rather go about my life seeing things as they are than be a clueless idiot such as yourself. Feel free to ban me. If I get banned for standing up to a jack*ss who has no business as a moderator, so be it. I'd rather not be in the company of such losers anyhoo.

You da man, Dean.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry for the insults. I attempted to show a distinction between guys like myself, who just wants to talk football, and those who want to fire everyone. What I didn't account for is I had made some assumptions about Sooner fans in general, particularly the ones on this site, and I was CLEARLY wrong. From now on, it's all sunshine pumping and *ss/penis jokes from me.

Can you just do us all a favor Dean, and make that an official rule or something...just so everyone knows ahead of time.

Thanks,

Well if you're sincere, then apologies accepted. And offered.

The rest of your post ain't all that hot though.

You see, I am a little more sensitive than most about the coach hate stuff (yes, I know, you have made it clear you aren't one of those dildos). I suffer through games with a couple of complete asswipes who yell "****ing idiot Wilson, ****ing great call Stoops" after EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Even when we get first downs and sometimes even on touchdowns. They're morons to the nth degree.

We have a great coaching staff - who has a proven track record of success. The only thing that has changed from last years RECORD SETTING ALL TIME OFFENSE is some players. If I was Wilson, I'd be shooting golfballs out of a JUGS machine at our wideouts to get them to hold on. I'd be putting shock collars on our O-linemen and zap the **** outta them every time they miss a block, hold, or jump early. Our execution, or lack thereof is what has killed us this year.

And finally, the only "sunshine pumping" I'll do is say "we've lost 3 games by a total of 5 points. One less hold, one more catch, one less whiff on a block, one more hanging on to an interception and we could very well be 6-0."

This team ain't far off. Call that sunshine pumping if you want.

Like I said, they annoy the hell outta me too. I just choose to ignore them rather than think everyone is the same and call them all haters. To me, those guys aren't worth the wasted breath.

Um...I don't mean to nitpick here...but if you think about it, this is kinda sorta criticizing the coaching. You're essentially saying that they're NOT doing those things, which are necessary to fix the problems that the players are having. And you're also saying that if you were the coach, this is what you would do to fix the problem. This is the very thing that people keep getting overly upset about, and isn't any different than anything I've ever said about the coaching.

And finally, the only "sunshine pumping" I'll do is say "we've lost 3 games by a total of 5 points. One less hold, one more catch, one less whiff on a block, one more hanging on to an interception and we could very well be 6-0."

Totally agree. We're out of the championship race, for the most part, but I still think that this is a championship caliber squad, if everything falls our way. I'd lament at our poor luck with injuries and stuff, but those are things that are out of our control. Like you kinda indicated above, the coaches need to find something to fix the holding, the missed tackles, and the stone hands. So, yeah, it's the players making the mistakes, and you can definitely blame them. But someone's gotta either teach them how NOT to do those things, or start recruiting different players who don't do them.

That's why I call the "source" the coaching. It all starts with recruiting, and then goes to development of players, and then to scheme, and then playcalling. Execution on the field is a sum of all those things, plus a little good/bad luck. The player's performance is the result of all those things coming together. This year, we've had a LOT of bad luck. But there are also some of the same fundamental issues and tendencies cropping up occasionally.

I also want to clear up that I'm not calling you a sunshine pumper. I'm just referring to pretty much the only accepted forms of posting.
