Just wanted to tell everyone coming this way, that right out of the speed trap town Calera there is about 3 miles of One lane road work, It will be backed up bigtime.

Traffic used to flow so smoothly through there, and there was so little of it.

Damn casino!

Not so much the casino as it is the road construction between Calera and Colbert.

That obviously is a problem, but there's also more traffic than there used to be, considerably more if you ask me.

Speeding trap is also very accurate. From about south of McAlester to the border, speed at your own risk, or if you have enough disposable income.

I'm always careful going through Calera. I rarely head north of Durant though so I don't worry about the rest of it.

The area around Stringtown used to be one of the biggest speed traps in the state; probably still is

DO NOT SPEED FROM THE TIME YOU GET OFF THE TURNPIKE TILL DURANT!!

Speeding tickets are the main source of revenue for those small towns through there. I've been pulled over for going 5 over before, and for passing someone on a two-lane where I had to speed up (Labor Day weekend). They really get strict on weekends like this, but most people will probably be on I35 anyway.

I got a warning from a state trooper in Durant one time. He commented on me being an OU fan (sticker in my back window) with texass license tags.

Mcalester to Colbert is all you have to know.

Durant really isn't all that bad. I lived there for 6 years and never once got pulled over on the highway. The Doorant cops usually spend their time on residential streets pulling heathens over for burnt out tail lamps and blowing thru yellow lights

I saw the thread title and thought Dean Blevins was casting odds on getting a speeding ticket.

Here's the road construction report.

Oklahoma traffic might be questionable - speed traps, ongoing construction and weird OHP troopers, but nothing. NOTHING scares me quite like Texas traffic.

They don't need one as the county boys take care of this area.
