Yes, its awesome. Howard Zinn is a socialist so be warned. This book is truly written from the perspective of the victims point of view in US History. Very graphic and a lot deeper than an 8th grade text book, I assure you.

It's not very good. The research isn't great and the writing style is average at best. The view presented is pretty simplistic and the author is quick to paint everything as class warfare. It's...well, it's basically polemics. If you want to read something from the leftist side, read Galbraith.

I think I lasted 5 pages longer in this than when I tried to read an Ann Coulter book. So I can't tell you much past 8 pages or so.

It's a good reminder that history is written by the winners/dominators, and that rarely will they ever give the full story, so as not to make themselves look bad.

Just the reality that supply-chain technology in the 17th Century was not sufficient to maintain European colonization of a fully populated North America is enough to warrant interest in it for a history buff
