They allowed a lot more celebrating by the players back in the day.

Neither fans back then supported their colors for the most part. Interesting to watch.

The Great Mike Gaddis.
This, x a gazillion. Sam's OU's sixth Heisman winner if not for that stinking carpet they had in Dallas back then.

Yeah, that phenomenon didn't start to take place until the mid 90s.

It used to be much harder to find team apparel. You didn't have these all-encompassing clothing contracts back then. Switzer's teams always wore Nike shoes, but he was always wearing those shiny, button-up Starter jackets.

Once the shoe companies started picking up schools, apparel became more prevalent and school colors were more identifiable in the stands.

Now that I think I do remember as a kid there was not much OU stuff available. When all the clothes, bedding, etc. came out I was pissed. Wish I could have had that growing up.

I can't believe I can watch it and still get pissed.

Moronic unnecessary roughness penalty probably cost us the game.

Crap!! We lost again!! You'd think there would have been a different outcome the second time around!!

I was there on the 45 yard line and it was a great game until Texas' last drive. I still remember watching that winning touchdown pass and knowing he would score if he caught it.

watching the carpet monster get Gaddis was the worst part- he was making everyone else look like they was running in glue.

Texas used to be very slow and very white.

That was painful to watch, the stadium got awful quiet at that moment.

Amazing how many names I remembered from that game. Loved Ike Lewis, Ted Long, and the Collins qbs.
