The NCAA never does anything in one day. If you don't believe me ask Shawn Clark.

Yes. The NCAA has shown everyone how big and tough they are(n't), and will relent on their stupid lying punishment.

I hope Poke fans remember this Dez ordeal the next time they call us fairweather fan cheatin' gooners... leave the cheatin' off!

On OP they are talking about meeting him at the airport as if he is some kind of conquering hero. WTF?

The more I read about it the more it pisses me off, the NCAA has a standard rule that if you lie to them you automatically miss half of your games. What kind of stupid BS is that, like the NCAA is some moral authority

Well, he's probably had to put his Porsche in the garage until the heat dies down so they just figure he needs a ride back to campus.

Not to defend the NCAA, but I can see this is actually a pretty important rule. Lying to an investigator has to be considered something quite serious. Otherwise you can lie with impunity.

This whole thing stinks, but frankly, Bryant allegedly went to Sanders' home, allegedly worked out with him, and thought he had commited a violation. So he lied about it to ensure he wasn't hit with a violation. Only later does he find out it's not a violation and comes clean. Then he gets suspended.

As folks still keep learning since the Nixon days, it's not the act, it's the cover up.

I agree that lying in an investigation is not good but if the facts we are hearing are true, they should realize why he did it

Foolishness, the whole debacle.

It's turning out to be a Ken Starr-Bill Clinton thing where an investigator doesn't find much but now focusing on "the lie".

Shame too... he's a good kid and just got scared. The NCAA in their passive-aggressive style, will take their time looking into this and unfortunately, he will sit there and sit there.

Needs to move on, play well and go to the NFL. Maybe Sam will throw to him.

Now if there is stuff that hasnt come to light yet, hammer him and the school, otherwise make him sit out another game and be done with it

Probably at the same time that MB gets reinstated and usuc gets put on probation.

If they let Dez off easy (1 or 2 games is easy IMO), the NCAA effectively promotes lying in future cases with limited punishment, so why not lie if you might not get caught. There is a reason you testify under oath in a courtroom, lie and you can go to jail.

Then again, the NCAA doesn't seem too lenient for self-reporting these days.
