What's up with Madu? Pre-season lots of talk and expectations, espcially from Bob, year to date 5 rushes and 5 catches for combined 51 yards offense.

Seems like with all our receiving woes he'd see more action.

I haven't been able to see all of the games, what gives?

From what I have heard is that he still picking up on the position, and blocking at the WR position.

Yeah,

Murray in the slot, he was awesome in HIGHSCHOOL and can get deep. Madu at TB

I think one of the things was the fact that Caleb was having a lot of success from the Slot position, and so they didn't want to take him out.

Is he overrated? I hear a lot of guys drool over him on this board. If he was all that he would be playing. Just saying.

He's like a KeJuan Jones IMO. Serviceable, but not dependable. Right now that's pretty much the feel of the entire offense, though.

Flashes of brilliance towards the end of last season... valuable in the OSU and Big 12 Champ game.

If so, why didn't we use him against BYU or Miami?

Haven't been impressed with Madu. I don't think he's a receiver and it seems, in watching him, that he's drawn to defenders who are trying to tackle him.

I am guessing he is just not as good as Brown, Murry or Caleb. He looked good against Mizzou, but their D wasn't what I consider decent.

Like someone else already said, he reminds me a lot of Kejuan Jones.

Kinda what I thought about for a split second, then decided I wanted DeMarco at tailback. But, it might make some sense to keep DeMarco on the field more, move him to slot when he's not at tailback, and let Chris Brown and Madu split the rest of the time. Murray has shown that he can catch and do something with the ball, and Madu is still learning that position.

Murray is versatile and we need players who can catch. Murray in different places will confuse the defense, especially in the new spread wishbone 2.0 formation. (See other thread, New Sooner Offensive Formation)

count me as somebody who doesn't think he is all that great...

Madu has a good burst, but he doesn't have a whole lot of make you miss (which you'd ideally like in a slot guy). He showed up big with the 2nd half kickoff return!
