Oklahoma hosts Baylor to open Big 12 Conference play Saturday.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Coach Stoops has decided that the announcement relative to Sam Bradford's availability for Saturday's game against Baylor will be made Friday.

Stoops provided this quote at his weekly press conference on Tuesday: "If he's not going to play effectively, in other words to be able to sling it out there in a split second when he sees something pop open, then he understands that maybe he isn't benefiting the team and he knows that Landry has played well. In the end, he has to gauge how confident he is in making the throws and working the offense. Truly, he's the only one who knows how he feels."

Sam Bradford also met with the media on Tuesday and provided insight into the decision-making process: "I think I have a big percentage of that decision but I think overall the coaches are going to have to watch the way I practice this week. Ultimately, they'll probably decide if they feel like I'm ready to help this football team win this week."

The No. 17 Sooners (2-2, 0-0 Big 12) and Baylor (3-1, 0-0 Big 12) face off at 2:30 p.m. (CT) on Owen Field. The matchup will be televised regionally by ABC. Fans should consult the network's coverage map to see if their local ABC affiliate will have the OU game.

Probably not at full speed yet... see limited snaps to get some of the rust off and then let Landry take back over.

i don't think an injured QB can be 100%, until the 2nd game he plays.. (JMO)

i sure would love to see him take a couple series

I don't think an injured QB can be 100%, until mid way through the 3rd qtr. of the 4th game he plays. (YOSA...JMO)

I have my own tailgate...I would love to go to SF's but I am committed to my own...I know SF's is great...

Do you guys think that the coaching/medical staff is being overly cautious or do you suspect that his injury was worse than what was reported? Shame he got hurt and hopefully he won't come back too soon. And if he does have to get surgery...what is the timing of his rehab? Would he be fully healed in time for the combine?

He has been medically cleared, basically IMHO it is SB not being completely comfortable or his dad not being completely comfortable with him playing yet. The fact that it went to Friday this week tells me SB really wants to play, we will see...

If he has been cleared medicially but they need to watch him practice to see if he can make the throws doesn't that sound like he still has medical/physical limitations? Admittedly haven't followed his progress lately. Would hate to see him come back too soon and re-injure his shoulder.

The doctors have said he is free to play at his disgretion, the way I understand it, he has no chance to injure the shoulder worse, his limitations are with pain, dead arm, and range of motion. I have also heard that his dad is in his ear and is pushing him to be extremely conservative with his decision. That might be the conflict cus I also hear he really wants to play this week and really wanted to play last week

to me, tailgating at the LNC would be boring as hell, the whole reason you tailgate is to get the campus atmosphere
