Yes, 3GS - 99 per for buncha minutes + 30 per for data, plus some international features that add nother coupla bucks.

Minutes rollover and I stopped worrying about them quite some time ago.

I don't have AT&T right now so I would have to switch over.

Is the internet also called the data package that includes unlimited texting or whatever?

Nope, the texting package is separate from the data plan.

I have the 39.99 minute plan. I text a LOT more than I talk and most of the people I call are ATT customers so it's free minutes. I have like 4000 rollover minutes so there's no way I'll ever need a larger minute plan.

I know dropping them isn't a good idea, but sh*t happens. What's this case like vs. one of the rubberized ones if you were to drop it?

I am sort of an Oakley fanboy so I have this one on both my iPhones:

We have a little corporate account and pool the minutes and it's still about 90 a month per phone. If you can get more than one person on yer account you can generally save a bit.

I've dropped mine a few times with no ill-effects. Then again, I'm kind of short.

What is the difference between a 3g and a 3gs?

They have both listed on the site, but I can't see the difference.

3GS has a faster processor, a built-in compass, voice command, and can take video.

There's also a rumor that the 3GS network card can support wireless-N but they haven't firmware enabled it.

The 3GS has voice activation software, video camera, different capacity sizes, a built-in compass, and several other options. I'm sure there's a website somewhere that gives all the technical side-by-side comparisons.

I'm actually trying to decide if I want to upgrade in January to the 3Gs or wait until the new iPhone is introduced in the summer.

Oh, also the 3GS comes in a 32GB model, which the 3G doesn't.

How much memory would you all recommend getting in a GS? Is the 32GB overkill?

Yes, I think so.

I believe that 1gb holds 1,000 pictures, but someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have songs on mine, but nothing crazy like

if you want to combine your ipod and phone, the 3gs is probably the best

that is if you have a **** ton of music tho

Well, if all you need is something that will hold your pictures, then an iPhone is kind of overkill anyhow.

I've got about 26GB of stuff on my iPhone. A good 10-12GB is music, the rest is various TV shows I don't have time to watch at home and try to get caught up on during breaks between class.

SicEmBaylor

I have an 8gb and only half my memory used. I have 600 songs, a movie, a few pictures, and 40-something Apps installed.

It depends on how much of your music you want to carry around which is the big memory eater for most I think.

My 3Gs is only about 1/3 used (16gb). I upgraded from two years with a 1st gen and I can tell you I would have done it for the processor speed alone.

The diff between the 1st gen EDGE and the 3Gs is like transferring from Baylor football to Oklahoma football.

(sorry SicEm)

You can get it hacked for T-mobile very easily. Works like a charm. Edge is not as fast as 3G, but it's not bad at all.

I just hate being told I "have" to do anything.

I went and "chatted" with them to see if they'd give me a deal for switching from Sprint and it was nogo. My sprint plan is $99/month for the palm pre and that includes unlimited everything, including internet.

To get your best deals with AT&T Wireless, call the 800 number. You'll get much more freebies and better deals with them than you will at the local AT&T store.;)

the newest iPod touch has the broadcom N chip, but I hadn't read that about the 3GS.

The 3GS also supports HSPDA 7.2, I don't believe the 3G does.

that's the 7.2 mbs speed, which is supposed to be in Houston by the end of the year, not sure the schedule for OKC though (but I would imagine at least 1 year away).

I have a 32gb with 5.5 gigs free

Apples changes haven't been ground breaking, however it's worth waiting unless you absolutely need a new phone come Jan.

When the 3Gs came out, they lowered the prices on the 3G stock.
