Would it be odd to say that an unusally rainy summer in Oklahoma took some of the pressure out of the Gulf system? I am not complaining about the rain. Okay, go ahead and make your jokes.

Interesting though that the Pacific Rim has had a fair share of Typhoons this year, including two big ones this week.

Aren't we in an El Nino pattern? If so, I believe it tends to blow the tops off these developing storms.
