Yeah, but I'd hate to wait until the last weekend of the season to become bowl eligible by beating OSU, the only thing worst than that would be losing to Okiestate.

14-0 for 2010 - what could possibly go wrong?

Well I haven't been to Shreveport in awhile.

Here is my prediction:

2009 11-2 We sneak into the national championship game after a crazy last two weeks of college football. We beat Florida 58-2 for the MNC.

2010 14-0 We go back to back beating Notre Dame in the title game.

Oops. I fear we won't be much better next year. I think it will be 2011 before we return to dominance. We don't have any receivers.

If theres no DAMN INJURIES in 2010, we should be in the top 5. But once again, if theres no DAMN INJURIES TO OUR 3 BEST PLAYERS. AAAHHHH

The only thing worse than that is not becoming bowl eligible at all.

This is the most retarded optimism I have seen in a while. Let's be realistic here.

Loss to Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Texas Tech.

Until Bradford comes back and until our line learns how to block and until we find some receivers to catch the ball and until this team learns how to play on the road, I'm honestly not expecting much from these guys outside of Norman.

While I like the optimism, that record is mathematically impossible. If we win out, which that presumes, we would be the only Big XII South team undefeated in conference play, in which we would end the regular season 10-2. If we get to the title game and lose, or the we win and lose The Fiesta Bowl, that would make our record 11-3. If we lose to UTerus, then unless they seriously choke going down the stretch, then the best we could do is 10-3, which wouldn't be bad considering what has happened this year.

As for 2010, it comes to down a few things:

1) Who will leave? We know that Gresham is gone, and we presume that GK and Sam will leave. Others who could go early would be DM, Franks, Lewis, and Beal. Reynolds and Granger could both decide to get medical redshirts to stay, which they both could likely get. I expect DM and Lewis to stay. I would say the other two would be 50/50.

2) Who do we get in recruiting? We should get White, and likely a couple more name recruits. We need to load up on WRs.

3) Who improves down the stretch? We have some guys who we can build around, and we would need to get some younger guys some time to prepare them for next year.

Next year, UTerus and OSU will be rebuilding, or at the very least a step back from where they are this year. A&M and Baylor just don't have the horses yet, and Tech is a mystery, but we get them in Norman. In the North, 2 of the 3 teams we play are cellar dwellers (ISU and CU), and the only game of note would be against Mizzou. The non-con has three home games (USAFA, FSU, and Utah St.); all of which are winnable. The most concerning non-con will be at Cincy, who will be without their best offensive players.

I'm surprised you guys that think we lose to NU think we win the KU game. I think the KU game is more difficult than the NU game. We can shut out that offense, or at least hold NU to 10 points.

I'm just curious as to why some people think that we'll lose to Texas next year. Colt McCoy will be long gone. And for some strange reason, I can see Sam coming back to OU next year. I think he'll really want to prove something depending on this year's outcome. Also, I don't believe that next weeks Texas game is an automatic loss. Anything could happen between right now and next weekend, for all we know Colt could get injured against Colorado. And even though we're 2-2, we've obviously lost both games by a whopping two points. I'm just glad the players have had some tough/close game experience. Texas on the other hand has played whom, ULM, UTEP, Wyoming, a weak Texas Tech team in Austin. I hope the Horns are overly confident come next weekend so that OU can punch them right in the mouth.... What I'm really sick of hearing is this Sergio Kindle garbage....... Texas fans seem to believe that we don't stand a chance due to this guy and that this guy is the most ferocious football player in college football today because he made a helmet to helmet hit on Potts......Give me a #$%@ing break.....BOOMER!

We gotta beat Texas. If we beat Texas, we win the Big 12, again, and get a BCS bid. What a great way to redeem ourselves after the unfortunate start of the season.
