Anyone else think Chris Berman sounds like a Sopranos character?

Im getting kind of tired of hearing Gruden and Jaws jizz after every favre throw, saying "That looks like a throw he made in 1997. He put so much zip on that ball." Fellas, its Brett freakin Favre. He will be able to out-throw 95% of the qbs 10 years from now. That throw that looks like 1997 looked like that for the last 12 years, too.

Jared Allen - Idaho State alum

This still boggles my mind.

I really wanted to give that Jared Allen a swift kick to a certain spot. However, I wish they involved AD more in their offense. The scoreboard was deceiving - the Vikings gave up at the end and nearly gave the game away despite the fact that they were up (and good gawd, I've never seen a team challenge to give their opponents points!) 16 points and the game was not out of the Packers' reach. So anyway, I may get trash from a few co-workers who will innocently ask if I saw the game last night (No, I was vacationing in Antarctica for one night only!) and I may get trash from some of you, but hey, I was telling NP that this game isn't the one that people will really remember. It's all about getting the last laugh and the last word in the argument, so the final game between the Fav-ruh Vikes and Packers will be the game that people will talk about after this season... and it's in Green Bay.

I think your QB is atrocious at avoiding the sack. Poor OL play, or not, on 5 or 6 of those sacks he needed to get rid of the damn ball.

He throws a great ball though, just needs to do it more often!

Think how good my Vikings would be if Peterson didn't provide us with one crippling fumble in every game.

AD's almost too good at staying on his feet to a fault. If he just dropped to the ground like pansy RB's around the league instead of fighting for additional yards, he wouldn't have lost the ball.

Alas, he got his TD later in the game to make up for it... and you guys are undefeated, so don't get too upset. Not till your visit to Lambeau. ;)

He seems to fumble about every other game, actually.

If you can recover 1/2 of those, that equals 4 lost per season. Should easily be able to deal with that!

Peterson has lost 9 fumbles in his 34 game NFL career.

So, as I estimated, 4 lost per season, should easily be able to be overcome.

Other "fumblers"....

Emmitt Smith, 8 fumbles in '91
Walter Payton, 10 fumbles in '76, 11 fumbles in '77
Barry Sanders, 10 fumbles in '89
Eric Dickerson, 5 seasons with double-digit fumbles, 14 in '84
Tony Dorsett, 3 seasons with double-digit fumbles, 12 in '78 and '84
Jim Brown, 9 fumbles in '60, also in '62
Marshall Faulk, 8 fumbles in '95
Marcus Allen, 14 fumbles in '83
Edge James, 8 fumbles in '99
Franco Harris, 3 seasons with double-digit fumbles, 11 in '79
Thurman Thomas, 9 fumbles in '88
OJ Simpson, 9 fumbles in '72, 1 murder in '94
Earl Campbell, 10 fumbles in '81
Ladanian Tomlinson, 8 fumbles in '01

Rodgers would have to be made of smoke to avoid some of the sacks he had. That OL is the worst in the league, and he's an incredible QB to do what he does behind it.

The guys on SC said it right: the Vikings would have won last night no matter who was QB, but the Packers only had a shot with Rodgers.

Nah... let him fumble, especially against the Packers and especially especially when the D scores off of it.

I can say that, because AD will still be known as the greatest running back regardless.

How many carries does he get if Kevin Wilson is his coach? I say he'd split time with #29.;)

Not many Super Bowl winning seasons on the above list, Mr. Glove. Franco Harris and Marcus Allen in '83 are the only ones.

1 out of 32 teams will win the Super Bowl. It's kind of rare. A Vike would surely know.

If you want to ***** about ADs play last night go ahead. Bad play. Crucial play.

But if you are going to categorize it under a broader label, at least adequately acknowledge that almost all of the all-time greats had similar issues with ball security, and generally early in their career.

Does Peterson's fumbling need to improve? Probably so.
Will it? Probably so.
Is he any different than Sweetness or Jim Brown or ED? Not really.
