the only two 1-loss teams at the end of the season are OU and texass?

Would they do it? Would they really pit a RRR rematch in Pasadena? Imagine the hype for that one and the hue and cry about last year's ending!

Boise State would be #1.

Only ways you would ever see an OU vs. texass NC game is if their is a playoff and they are the final 2 or if one was undefeated and the other had one loss.

Would never happen and re-matches blow anyway.

It WOULD be fun to beat them twice in one year.

OU Nebraska Orange Bowl comes to mind

or the '97 Sugar Bowl

i've gotta think that if they were the only two 1-loss teams that they would be there

it's not like we are talking about Kansas who only played Missouri that year and had a total cupcake non-conference schedule

there's no way a 2-loss SEC champ gets in over a 1 loss Texas at that point without some serious collusion. the computers would be pretty hard to overcome, i think

1978. One of the best revenge games ever.

We have this exact same thread every season.

We have this exact same thread every season.

i was just thinking the same exact thing.

i said this same exact thing last season.
and, i said the same exact thing the season before that.

what exactly are we talking about ;)

While highly unlikely, it is possible. It wasn't for a national championship, but does anybody remember our rematch with Nebbish in the 1979 Orange Bowl. :D

Do we have the exact same answers every year? ;)

I guess it's a matter of perspective. '78 was my senior year at OU and I thought the game was a let-down and all my buddies felt the same way. Of course, not being able to play for MNC was going to be a let-down no matter what. But everyone knew OU > NU that year and it took a really bad weather day and turnovers for NU to win in Lincoln. So beating NU in good conditions at the OB didn't prove anything we didn't already know. I would have rather we played another team.

I guess a re-match with a team you play every year anyway doesn't do anything for me. Plus, if it did happen this year it would mean we won in Dallas and UT would get a chance at revenge - we could only repeat what we had already proved.

yeah, i'm thinking if we beat Texas, that might be the last team i'd like to play at the end of the season

I had my "Revenge Comes SOONER Than Expected" jersey for years after that. We weren't going win a MNC that year any way, so I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to set matters straight.
