It'll be bama vs OU. I predicted this before the season started.

That would give my friend a stroke.

He is from Alabama, so he likes the Tide. However he graduated from OU and is in OU med-school.

I would have to give him a lot of sh** if that happens. However, I like OUr chances with that matchup. I don't think Bama's offense can score enough on our defense to win.

If your looking for a serious answer, it is YES. Bama has the best team in the land right now and I think their defense can take them through the SEC.

Even with all the apparent craziness, at the top, things look as expected:

SEC looks to come down to a UF/'Bama CCG. LSU and Ole miss are dark horses.

Big12 should be the OU/UT winner with OU being a bigger underdog than expected due to Gresham loss and missed time by Sam.

USC is *not* out of it, and needs another loss (I'm projecting here :)). They will win the conference again, sigh.

Boise will be the BCS buster, but no title game. They were eliminated from the title before they played a down by their schedule.

Big10, ACC, big east are just not as good, but Cincy still a dark horse.

They haven't played anyone. But yes, as of now, they look the most impressive.

simply best team/should be #1= Florida
best chance of going undefeated=Boise
most impressive wins=Houston
most impressive/dominant play=Alabama

It just depends how voters do their rankings. Based on the past (UF), based on the future (Boise), based on SOS (Houston), or "power" rankings (Bama).

I still think Florida is the best team.

I would agree. And I don't think they will lose a game. Unless they have more injuries or something crazy.

LSU? Get real. What a joke.

SEC Championship? Urban Meyer v. Nick Saban... I still think Alabama is not quite there and I would take Florida straight up.

To the original question:

I've seen all of 'Bama's home games this year in person. Yesterday was the first time I've seen "it" factor (swagger?) out of them. There were quite a few desire-type plays yesterday where an offensive player would shrug off a defender or a defender would stay after Mallet tenaciously and force a bad throw. Losing Hightower for the year (as seems likely) is a blow.

McElroy throws a really nice ball. He hit Maze perfectly on a fade that resulted in a looong TD. He tends be slightly late coming back to the middle on his reads, but that may have something to do with when you have Julio Jones on the edge, every problem looks like a nail.

Good lookin' team.

i think John Parker Wilson had only 9 TD passes last year... lol

I hate to bring up the same old complaint...but notice they place a 3-4 defense with very tight man-to-man corner coverage. Now, they have a stud in their nose tackle to make it work, but this is the same defense that many NFL teams play.
