LSU played badly while Virginia Tech destroyed Miami. That's just my vote, most voters are much more conservative though

I don't think Boise can play in the Championship game, they are in a non-BCS conference which means they may get to play in the Fiesta Bowl (a spot reserved for the best non-BCS conf team). Correct me someone if I am wrong.

Obviously Boise and LSU aren't really deserving of their rankings, but voters won't drop them below us, a) because they haven't lost (and we have), and b) because style points don't matter this early in the year. And we wouldn't exactly be deserving of a top 5 ranking either.

If they don't blow out Tulsa and Nevada, they are done. Even if they do, 4 or 5 is as high as they go. One legitimate team (Oregon) does not warrant a NC appearance.

While adding that the only good thing about the BYU loss is how early it came; if by some miracle OU can run the table, they will be in the Rose Bowl next January

We will slingshot over VA TECH, or any other 1-loss or non-BCS team if we beat UTerus. The past two weeks, we had the teams lose who we had to have lose (BYU, Cal, PSU). The only things that might concern me are teams like Cincy, Iowa, USF, or Michigan. These are teams from weaker BCS conferences who would have a chance to go undefeated.
