....against miami, which do you think gives us the better opportunity to win? i think 80% is about the best we could hope for sam to be if he does play in that game. i don't have an answer. landry has looked great, but on the road against a good team, i'm not sure who i want.

Start Landry. If we aren't getting beat, leave him in.

Id say start Landry.. Save Sam for a lesser team(Baylor) to get his kinks worked out for saxet.. I think either way we win

Sam. He's able to read the defense better to find the open guy.

Landry is really good, but he's still making some bad decisions.

Sam won't be in unless he's near 100%.

I have a sick feeling in my stomach. Perhaps, I can smell the storm clouds of a "what have you done for me of late " brewing for Sam.

Unless Sam is risking injury, he should start if he can make the throws he needs to. You have only to look at Colorado 2007 to see what a young QB with shaky WRs does on the road.

Miami 2009 >>>>>> Colorado 2007
Sam Bradford 2007 >= Landry Jones 2009
OU WRs 2009 >= OU WRs 2007

Hmm...

QB controversy??? Um, no. Sam is the OU QB.

Start Landry because Sam is hurt. If the QB starts losing us the game, put Sam in.

Landry. There is no such thing as "no increased risk of injury" if the ligament is not fully healed. Of course, Sam will not reach 100% anytime soon, so have to make a reasonable call if he wants to play this year. But this is a non-conference game and if he really had a grade 2-3 sprain, he won't be far enough along in 10 days.

I agree with BoulderSooner79 - he shouldn't be playing if he's not fully healed.

This.

Even if he miraculously healed 100% this week, Sam's gonna need more time to get stuck on swole.

If we beat Miami, all the motivation will be back

(hopefully most of it is already there)

I agree sam is the qb. This being said the first time Sam dosen't "Tebow" (gator-latin for walk on water) some *** clown will be on here calling for Landry to get the nod.

That's what makes them *** clowns. Don't listen to the morons.

The question is: versus Miami, would you rather have a 100% Landry Jones, or a 75% Sam Bradford, nursing a bad throwing shoulder & highly susceptible to prolonged injury?

It's a no-brainer. Plus it seems the offense is rapidly learning (which would help either QB) and from what I've seen of Landry so far, he's got ice in his veins. I'm less worried with him at QB vs. Miami, than a banged-up, coming-in-cold Sam Bradford.

The bad decisions is what scares me about Landry... :(

Win or lose at Miami with Landry.

Sam plays sometime later when he's ready.

Well...you know it's bound to happen to any Freshman. No reason to be scared though. Get yourself one of those cuddly horsepigs if it gets to bad for ya. :D

Yep, couldn't agree more. It's a non-conference game and any schooling that Landry may get in Miami, will be returned to future opponents when he is the main guy. Sure, we want to win but it ain't worth risking Sam's shoulder if he isn't ready.
