I'm competing against a bunch of my writer friends. Whoever can recruit the most people to our former screenwriting professor's mailing list gets a character in a crime novel named after them.

So all you have to do is go to http://www.louberney.com/contact/contact.php and tell him Jessica L. sent you.

And while you're at it, you might check out the synopsis of the book, "Gutshot Straight," which is coming out in January.. Lou's an awesome writer and an even awesomer guy. AND I REALLY WANT A CHARACTER NAMED AFTER ME, SO GO SIGN UP FOR HIS MAILING LIST.

TIA.

As long as there is a convenient "unsubscribe" feature for after the contest is over. Because WTF wants to get unsolicited email from some screenwriting professor? :D

So would your character be named Jessica L. or P. Gonzo?

BTW--he's written for Warner Brothers, Paramount, Focus Features, ABC, and Fox, and his short stories have been in The New Yorker.

Obviously, he would use my actual name. My surname is pretty rare and easy to track down, so I don't like to put it on here.

But the P. Gonzo sounds so much LIKE a crime story character!!!!!

well, I guess that's up to the guy writing the book. But if you don't at least tell him my ACTUAL first name, he won't know who to count the points for :P

Her hair is Harlow gold, her lips sweet surprise
Her hands are never cold, she's got Bette Davis eyes
She'll turn the music on you, you won't have to think twice
She's pure as New York snow, she got Bette Davis eyes.

Not.

I just said that you are highly suspicious and should be considered armed and dangerous. Possibly a terrorist.
