As one of the people who documented my frustration about the results of the first game, I don't consider myself a nonbeliever, but I know what I saw and it was not pretty. The Sooners turned in a poor offensive performance (and that was before Bradford went down). Except for a few defensive series, this did not look like a championship-calibre team. That doesn't mean that they would not show improvement over the course of 12 games, all or at least most teams do. That was my main concern, that yes, OUr team and hopefully, the coaching, would improve throughout the season but that the competition would too and first week results indicated that the competition was already playing better that OU. A blowout over Idaho State did nothing to assuage my fears that this was going to be a long season for Sooner fans. The beatdown of Tulsa does lift my spirits, however, but the real tests are yet to come. I have high hopes, not mindless faith.

Go Sooners!

If they take it, one practice, one day, one play, one game at a time, there is no one that can stay on the field with those guys. Stoops mentioned how he hates when players want to get to the end of the season, before it gets here; and I believe this is what makes fans stay on edge throughout the season, not enjoying the moment.

My heart is rejoicing, not because we beat Tulsa, or that the defense looked unreal at times, but that they improved every game that they have played, and they are not going to lay down for anyone. Miami may win, but they have a tougher test than we do, because this team has already faced more adversity than any team in college football, and they are facing and conquering all challenges.
