aka "Sacrament of Reconciliation."

So...I'm gonna be a Godfather again next weekend. So I prolly need to go to confession tomorrow.

Thing is...I'm heading to Vegas Sunday-Friday and then the baptism dealio is next Saturday.

So my question is...can I go ahead and get absolution AND some kind of pre-absolution for the week in between? You know, just in case?

Maybe I can pre-confess.

:texan:

I'm not exactly old-fashioned, but I prefer the little booths with the anonymous screen in between. I'm not for this face-to-face business. I'm bettin' a nun thought that one up. Cause they are masochistic like that. Yup, sadistic too.

If I were you, I'd convert to become a Lutheran.

I'm really a terrible Catholic. But I don't want to jinx this poor kid's start in life.

With all the slot machines in the airport there, they might have a confessional too

I'm pretty sure that Lutherans aren't down with selling indulgences either. I may have to go check a church door for postings on this matter.

If he were a Lutheran, the Confession of Sins would be prior to the Baptism, so he would only need to show up with a pulse. A benefit of streamlining if you will.

Gotcha. Plus, like anything's a sin to ELCAs anyhow. :D

I don't see how anyone putting that much thought into guiding a young'in and going to confession could be a bad Catholic. The only thing that makes a "good" Catholic is to try. It sounds like you're trying. Sounds pretty good to me.

And I'm pretty sure there's no ace in the hole pre-absolution. :) If you're really worried, you can always get an appointment.

And I'm with you --- behind the screen is the only way to go. The new-agey feel-gooders think face to face is a great development. Um, no.

Put $10 on number 18 at the roulette table, you'll be fine.

Last time I went to confession was 4 years ago in Italy. I asked the priest if he spoke English and he didn't....so I said "OK, get comfortable, we'll be here a while"

Rogue...

Your sins were forgiven when you were Baptized.

Your pretty much good to go now. Don't worry about anything this weekend. Guilt will overcome you and your temptations will slip right on by onto the other sinners around you.

Good thing your Catholic and can do no wrong.

Have Fun!

Talk to you at Mardi Gras! :D
