Ya know, every few months when I make my way around here, I see my sig and laugh at myself again. Then I think of Les and laugh some more. :)

You need to have sex with a woman. And then sex with a man. And then compare how it felt.

Andy unsure about his own sexuality was pretty strong.

They are consistently #1 in their time slot for the coveted 18-49 crowd, The Office isnt going anywhere.

I do agree that last season wasnt their best but now that they can get past all the retarded "are Jim and Pam together stuff" they will be fine

Last night was awesomeness

I'm guardedly optimistic. The end of last season finally started to reverse the slide that began in Season 3.

i mean whether it's quality not whether it's on the air. last season was pretty ho-hum. the characters have become plot functions and a bit cliched. hopefully, the writing will improve is my point.

lots of crappy shows have ratings.

yea, there was a little time frame where alot of the jokes were forced, the end of last season and the 1st epi last night were solid though

How is that kid that played the "Alan Thicke" intern not related to Matt Damon? I was sure he was his brother or something.

Collier11
9/18/2009, 11:08 AM
well, as I said earlier. I think the jokes were still funny but the story line was def forced during those seasons, they tried so hard to make the Jim/Pam/Roy/Karen deal the focal point of the show that they lost their focus and the jokes didnt always fit

Now that is out of the way and they are back to just being funny again...I Hope!

Yeah, she looked seriously hot last night. Maybe TV pregnancy gives her a TV glow. Or maybe she's preggers in real life?? That doesn't seem like a direction the writers would want to go unless they had to.

This thread is a disappointment, I thought it was about Adult Swim picking up the Ricky Gervais original version on Friday nights.

Meanwhile, the comedy on 30 Rock has surpassed that of The Office the last couple of seasons.

Lastnite was classic Office, very funny. I especially loved when Michael was simulating the Jim walking in and the door opening

30 Rock is funny at times, but any time they break away from Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, it loses a lot of steam. Those two together could have been at home in a great comedy like Arrested Development or one of the Sorkin shows (West Wing, Sports Night, Studio 60).

Angela, for those of you who don't know, is a Baylor graduate in real life. Knowing that makes the part she plays even funnier.

I give the show 1, maybe 2 seasons after he leaves.

Will Arnett maybe could replace him.

Hell, bring in Gervais as David Brent.

While I think both of those guys are comedic geniuses, I don't think their brand of humor, appeals to as wide of a range as Carrell. I'm pretty sure I've heard they are bringing in Will Ferrell for a few episodes. That might be interesting.

The show simply won't be the same without him though.

He really doesn't need The Office anymore. He gets about what, $5-10MM per movie now. A movie career is far more lucrative now that he is an established hollywood star.
