I am not talking about the team. I am talking about us. THE FANS! This team has had EVERYONE criticize them as of late, including you and I. We need to find the positives and cheer our BUTTS off the rest of the year! WE'RE FREAKING OKLAHOMA!! We're not going to back down to anyone! We need to be there for the team and help them rally. I know that Idaho State is weak, but it starts Saturday. We need confidence and the men clashing heads on the field need support, not criticism. Thats the coaches' job. One game doesn't define a season. So lets quit whining about BYU and get out there and cheer like champions and play like champions.

The play on the field has a direct connection to the excitement in the stands...believe it or not...

the fans can also help carry a team when the team isnt quite there yet

That is a myth...the team needs to carry itself...

not a myth, its called adrenaline.

If the team came out Sat and the fans sat on their hands the whole time, it would be disheartening to the team

Soonerus

no sh*t Rus, you are missing the point as usual

If you made a point I guess I missed it...I guess our team will be "disheartened" at every road game this year...and every year...

Carl...You just might have figured out what our problem has been on the road.

you as usual are just being difficult, players say all the time how a good crowd can make a difference, especially when things arent going so well

Soonerus
9/10/2009, 10:23 PM
and the crowd goes wild then collectively shares a puzzeled look as their wildness has no effect on the field of play ???

I agree...

Collier11

As the crowd goes wild, Rus gets frightened and just peed a little

I think the premise of the thread makes an excellent point. For a week, this team has been under the microscope, likely with little positive coming from a lot of fans. These are the same fans that will fill the seats on Saturday evening.

Think back to the Tech game last year and how the crowd inspired our guys to absolutely CRUSH Tech.

Unfortunately I won't be there to be in the stands, but I think the support of the fans is crucial. Pump these guys up. They'll play harder, more inspired football with us all behind them.

There will be a lot of empty seats on Saturday...flaw in your analysis...

If fans don't want to go to the game, donate your tickets to a youth league or something. That's ridiculous. I'm willing to bet that the no - shows will number under a few hundred. The weather is supposed to be bad, so that could be a factor for the "fair weather" fans.

OU fans have proven to be lazy and selfish at times, not the majority but there is a small minority that just **** me off...I think they are the ones that go to all the bball games as well

Unless and until the team shows me they will not play a game as they did last week, I have every right to post how bad they played. Just hoping they show me tomorrow they have decided not to play like they did last week!! Can't go to the game tomorrow since I will be babysitting my grand kids so that my son and daughter in law can go. Never fear, they will come home without a voice cause they will be very loud to make up for me not being there.

Right... the crowd is a small factor. This would be why the first question ALWAYS asked about a matchup is "where is it at?"

Sure thing...
