Sorry, but it's true. Doesn't mean I don't still love Eps. 4-6, but let's be honest here, they are galactically overrated (see what I did there).

The story has been done a million times, the acting was at best mediocre, and the writing is just awful. Not to mention the movies are overflowing with comical contradictions.

I wont even get into the whole death star has a gaping hole in it that leads directly to the highly destructible core, but a more subtle example, the Death Star has trash compactors. Seriously? Trash compactors? You live in a time where there are sabers made out of light, cars that fly, robots that talk and are capable of deductive reasoning, and your method of waste disposal is something people on Earth in the 50's though was neato.

A ****ing trash compactor? You are telling me there has been no advancement in waste management in this galaxy since the trash compactor? You live on a ****ing man-made PLANET, and you can't figure out a way to get rid of garbage other than smashing it together and dropping it out in space? Seriously?

Again, I love Episodes 4 and 5. LOOOOOOVE them. I even love 6 despite the ewoks. However, the very notion of "overrated" requires that the subject be rated highly.

But at the end of the day, when you look back on these movies, the only real thing they had going for them is the fact that they were light years ahead of their time in special effects. (see what i did there again :) )

And how many movies today do we bemoan for being nothing more than a special effects orgy? Star Wars was simply the 70's version of that.

Star Wars is a revolutionary piece of art. How anyone can deny the importance of that movie is beyond me. I will agree that each successive movie is less important and that the prequel trilogy isn't "overrated" as much as it is a collective pile of ****.

When it comes to getting the most out of a team he is one of the Best, last year we had a BAD team and he kept us in the playoff push and as close as 2 games out I believe all the way into the 1st week of September. I think there may have been 1 or 2 other managers that could have done that with that team

He was 86-76 last season, and according to STL's RS/RA margin, they were supposed to be 86-76 last season, so they actually finished right where they were supposed to finish. For the record, your Cardinals are 2 games better than the RS/RA margin suggests this season. But since you're arguing for intangibles, then we must agree to disagree on this. Intangibles, by definition, cannot be measured accurately.

As for the fact that MLB managers are overrated, well, they really don't do anything except write out lineup cards and make pitching changes. It's not that tough to look at matchups in a book and send up a lefty or righty when needed. A manager can take a nap for a few innings (and some managers have before) until needed. So really, the manager in baseball is often not even needed in games.
