NORMAN — Injured Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford said Monday he hopes to be back in 2-4 weeks and has ruled out surgery as an option to correct a third-degree separated shoulder in his throwing arm.

“It feels a lot better,” he said. “Hopefully it can keep progressing like this.”

Bradford said he spoke with New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning over the weekend. Manning had a second-degree separation during the year the Giants won the Super Bowl.

Manning gave Bradford advice about how to recover from the shoulder and told him the reigning Heisman Trophy winner shouldn’t have trouble eventually making it back to the field.

Bradford wasn’t wearing a sling, but is still icing his shoulder constantly.

Bradford is still waiting for one more doctor’s opinion on the injury, but feels confident he’ll be able to make it back to the field after already hearing several opinions.

“It’s just a matter of getting it healed and getting back out there,” he said.

Bradford began rehabbing the shoulder Sunday.

He injured the shoulder during the second quarter of OU’s opening game against Brigham Young.

Until Bradford returns, redshirt freshman Landry Jones will start in his place.

I wonder if he's a candidate for platelet rich plasma therapy.

Canty seems to be feeling better.

Not I. But, given time, surely *someone* can turn this into a thread about health care reform? Whether pro or con?

:D

Great news. I hope he doesn't push too hard, but if Gresh can come back combined with moving Brody back to TE and Habern to C I think we're gonna be in great shape
