That it is a torn rotator cuff and he is out for the season. Any paying members of SS here that can confirm that?

I'm not a member, but I have heard similar.

I'm not a member, I haven't heard anything, but that sure *feels* like the kind of news we'll get this year.

I'd written his injury off as mild after the way he was into things on the sideline -- if it was season ending, I was convinced he wouldn't have come back out after the half. Sam's a better man than me. I probably would've been crying like a little girl, somewhere in Jerryworld's bound-to-be-awesome locker room.

So, here's my question:

Which of you jerks pissed off a gypsy to bring this curse on us, huh?

Wow, I absolutely hope that is not true. I want Sam to carry the Sooners and all, but if this is true, his NFL career is in serious jeopardy...

I just browsed the site, couldn't see anything.

If that were true, it would be legitimately heartbreaking. Doing the right thing and being horribly punished for it.

I don't think so. Sam has 2 more years he can play to remind them how good he is.

I am worried that he sure hurt more than a low grade sprain.

That would be some awful news for Sam and his family. He made a choice to stay in college and enjoy this time of his life so Im sincerely hoping that its still just an AC sprain.

That's usually how life goes sometimes man. Unfortunately :(

I've had a full rotator tear. If this is the case...he is indeed out.

If it's a small tear...it might not affect his career but may well indeed need to be a decision to make a full recovery before playing again.

Should this be an ''Out for the Season'' thing...I hope it doesn't affect his future.

The Good news is he took the ice and the wrap off late yesterday and felt a bit more comfortable getting involved with the guys. If a rotator cuff is torn, you flat-out CANNOT move your arms up without shrieking in pain, no matter if it's five minutes after the injury or five months.

I tend to believe (and hope) it's only a sprain. And it that's the case, you have to wonder even if he's a warrior and gets back out there... will he be any kind of accurate at all for a few weeks? I mean, I know when I sprained my ankle I took a LONG time before I got full strength and proper flexibility back in it.

Pat Forde is saying the same thing.

From the way he was acting/moving - I don't think it's torn.

Same here but the way things have been going this year...I'm going to be on pins and needles until I see Sam lining up behind Brody again this year.

The way Bob is with injuries...we might not even find out until something like that happens.

Pat Forde didn't say it was torn and ESPN is reporting MRI was negative... a couple weeks out is the general consensus.

Well... Landry Jones is going to get some OTJ training, that's for sure. I can't say I was displeased with his overall performance. I was displeased with this supposed "better than last year" offensive line that appears to be everything and maybe worse than we feared in the spring.

Defense was great, just self-destructed late against a great quarteback as you'd expect when you can't move the ball on offense. I've seen plenty of times (West Virginia 2008, Texas 2005 comes to mind) where we just laid down completely and got ran over. This team may have lost, but there's no denying the foundation (Special teams and defense) is something we can look forward to building a good season off of.

This could be a blessing in disguise. Landry could use the game reps, he's the future.

Exactly how I feel because the damage is done. Nothing anyone can really do about it.

f that.

If Sam's done this team is in bad shape.

Screw that kind of logic.

It is not in the Tulsa World as Late Breaking News so I doubt if it is true but at the same time, I doubt if anyone knows outside of the Bradford family at this moment.

I had a 2nd degree A/C joint sprain and I was out for two weeks when I was playing ball in college.. At SWOSU we dont have nearly as good of a training staff as OU so I imagine that he should probably be back in about two weeks also..I played center so when it happened to me I couldn't snap the ball let alone even drive my car with my right arm because the pain was severe

The fact that it's his throwing shoulder makes me think its more like 4-6 weeks minimum. We do toss the rock a bit...
