I'd really prefer we never, ever again schedule anything other than East Popcorn State to open the season. Bad enough that we won't be able to unload whatever we've already got scheduled for the next few years. According to Soonerstats, that's Utah State (Yay!) and probably Tulsa and TCU (No!)
All teams look shaky (to some degree) in their first game of the year. I'd rather we look shaky against someone our third stringers can beat.
I feel horrible for Sam. I feel awful for the team. I feel like I'm in some weird catch-22 loop here, having a defense that looked pretty damned good (even if it gave up some yards, and had a couple breakdowns) while our offense looked just, well, offensive.
Maybe we could put in some formal request for a mulligan on the season, bring everyone back next year, and try again?
