IF "Sooner Magic" is defined as the fourth quarter come from behind victory in the big game.........

........then, sadly, Sooner Magic just isn't in the Stoops bag of tricks.

How many pathetic threads are you going to start?

If you disagree with my point, then why don't you support your counter-argument with facts....

What are the littany of examples where Stoops has led OU to a come from behind win in the fourth quarter of a big game?

That's pretty easy as far as Stoop being a leader.

Look in the win loss column.

Check the Trophy cases in the Switzer Center.

Coming from behind isn't something he's had to do much of.

have you considered he hasn't been behind in too many games?

Sooner Magic also used to mean finding a way to win the big games. Tonight was a big game and still yet once again we sure didn't find a way to win it.

I didn't mean to post the same thing twice. This board is so darn slow tonight.

I'll try this one more time, even though I'm pretty sure you are not getting the point or capable of getting the point.

Don't give me generalized statements like, "Look in the win-loss column, Check the trophy case"

The specific issue is Sooner Magic...come from behind wins in the fourth quarter in big games... Switzer did it in many games, to name just a few

1. against Ohio State
2. against Nebraska in various years..1980, 1987, to name a few
3. against Florida State in the 1981 orange bowl
4. against Missouri with Joe Washington's big run
5. against Oklahoma State in 1983

So, now your job is to list the specific examples of Bob Stoops doing the same in big games

Because someone is pissed off with the way things went does not make them a bandwagon fan!

You really are incapable of reasoned debate, aren't you?

I still am a sooner fan...I'll be at the Idaho State game on Saturday. So why throw out the irrelevant bandwagon jeer?

My love of Oklahoma Football doesn't blind me to the fact that Stoops doesn't compare to Switzer when it comes to Sooner Magic.

If you can't stay on the point of the discussion, then move to another thread where you don't have to meet the standard of supporting your points with facts.

Here we go with apples and oranges....

After Switzer won two in a row he was under a microscope.

It was quite a few years before he pulled off a 3rd win.

Stoops has been to the National Championship four times and won once. Not a lot of Coaches carry that on their resume. It's an amazing record that you seem to want to wipe your *** on.

I don't like that. You aren't going to change my mind about it either.

Not at all. You just don't like not being in control and your crying about a loss like an aggie.

Sooner Magic also used to mean finding a way to win the big games. Tonight was a big game and still yet once again we sure didn't find a way to win it.

Yet he did it in 2000.

Damn near did it in 2003 and last year had phlorida on their heels. Both much bigger games.

Again. Sooner Magic isn't something he's had to depend on.

The Monster is alive and is wanting to eat Crystal Balls.

We have 7 in the entire OU Football History.

It's something we expect...it's something we live for....Bob Stoops is no different than any of us...any of the players or any of his Coaches.

You want to bag on Coaches and Sooner Magic?

Maybe you all should go start a Fire Jeff Capel Thread too.

When these same people were NOT flaming the coaches before the game and now all of a sudden think the sky is falling....yes, I consider those types as bandwagon fans.

There are those, like you and I, who have expressed some concerns over certain coaches over a long period of time, and find that to be quite a different matter.

There is a difference....

Yep. Emotions run high after a loss.

What you say after a loss is much more important than after a win IMO.

Really?

Ok. Mr. Las Vegas...I'll take that action.

You've been pretty bold with your comments, so let's see if you are the type of man to back them up.

Name the amount you want to bet on this.

True that. It's why I think emotions are even higher after this loss. Having this happen after setting the bar so high...well it just sucks.

I sure hope this is what turns it around again. Seeing that fire in the belly of all of our players would be something I think gave us an edge in 2000 when we were out manned and out gunned.

BYU can probably relate to that after tonight.

Let me start by saying I have been being a total and complete bi*ch for about three weeks now... Don't know what the prob is, but even my loyal to the end dogs have been running for cover when I walk in the door after work. So that being said...........

Ok, I'm so SICK of seeing people called band wagon fans because they bag on the coaches! They DESERVE to be bagged on!!! They make enough money to be ok being bagged on! Good God! Give me $4 million dollars just once, not even a year, and anyone, any where can say whatever they like about me!

Stoops makes more money than I'll EVER see, and doesn't do a damn thing in my opinion to earn it! the ONE AND ONLY MNC HE WON WAS WITH SOMEONE ELSES PLAYERS! He can't win one on his own to save his freaking life!!

I work my *** off in my job and make a teeny tiny fraction of what he does. I'm also on a "pay for performance" pay scale. If I did my job as well as Stoops and company do, I'd be in the freaking poor house or even fired! So yeah, I think we hard working people, who pump our hard earned money into this program by buying season tickets and all the OU crap we have, and help to pay Stoops $4 mil a year salary can have some say without being called "band wagon fans".

I mean, I try, I really, really try to be a band wagon fan. I try so hard to turn the freaking game off and not watch them self-destruct, and tell myself I don't care, but I can't! I am, as the song goes, Sooner Born and Sooner Bred.

Maybe start paying this staff on their actual performance, treat them like the rest of us, not like some special, can't be touched Gods, and they would turn stuff around! I mean, if you could get paid millions in your job while not actually performing, what would be your incentive?

And don't tell me Stoops and crew get a bonus for bowl games, cause, really? You're making $4 million a year, in this Oklahoma cost of living, do you really miss some end of year bonus?! They have to have enough left over money to be lighting their "runners up" cigars with $100 dollar bills!
