AMAZING.

Brennan Clay dominates as Scripps Ranch rolls

ESPNU 150 running back and Oklahoma commit Brennan Clay amassed 282 yards in Scripps Ranch's 37-14 victory over Poway on Friday night. Clay had a 38 yard touchdown scamper, but he really showed off his skills when he took a short pass 85 yards for a score in the first quarter, the North County Times reports.

Nice

is there a website that has our commitments stats listed? Or do people just go to hometown newspapers?

One of the things that gets me interested in guys like this is when the School they play for wins a State Championship. Now given that California is a huge State that isn't always a good thing to use for such an opinion...however...how has Scripps Ranch fared as a team while this kid played there and also is Scripps in a highly competitive Team in San Diego?

I've seen plenty of kids with huge stats that weren't competing at high levels.

Skills just don't always make what Rivals says true IMO.

As a 2008 junior at San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch, Brennan Clay became the first player in San Diego history to receive and rush for over 1,000 yards. He had 1,055 yards receiving on 70 catches (six TDs) and 1,486 yards rushing on 170 carries (27 TDs). Clay also had two touchdowns off kick-returns. He says he can bench 310-pounds, squat 425 and has a 33-inch vertical jump.

Started for Scripps Ranch HS in San Diego at running back as a freshman in 2006. Ran for eight touchdowns and scored another on a kickoff return.

Sounds like pretty good stuff though.

Anyone see AD working out practicing his vertical leap with two 60 lb dumbbells and jumping up on a table and then back down?

Looks to me like they got crushed in a Playoff game.

Chuck Long's view: Former San Diego State head coach Chuck Long is serving as an assistant at Poway. He pulled Clay aside afterward to congratulate him.

“Oh, what a stud,” Long said. “He's a heckuva back. I reminded him I coached at Oklahoma for six years.”
