BSU player mouthed off, taunted, and shoved the guy. I kinda liked the taunt and the punch, as it made both teams look bad. Boise fans were classless, as well. Kudos to Scott Frost, asst. Oregon coach, and former Neb QB, for trying to get the Oregon *** off the field, and looking flat disgusted..

Note to Blount: if the head coach wasn't there at the time you might have been in trouble. If this happens somewhere off the field, Blount likely ends up in the hospital. First of all, the guy jumped right back up after a sucker punch. Second, he hit a D-lineman that outweighed him by about 70 lbs of what looked like solid muscle. He better hope he doesn't meet that "white dude" in a dark alley anytime soon. Regardless, Oregon's 2nd string tailback better be ready.....he's about to get some serious playing time.

The Irony is, back in 1997 Scott Frost was knocked out by Lawrence Phillips in that now infamous situation where Phillips caught Frost in bed with his ex.
Frost has bad luck with hot head Running Backs to say the least.
If Blount wouldn't have gone into/ tried to go into the stands I wouldn't see this as a huge deal. Obviously it would be the buzz for a while, until the media cycle came back to Rich Rodriguez or Tim Tebow. Him going after the fans and fighting the security is the real harmful thing for him.
Players through punches all the time, 99% of the time they miss or don't hit there target square (or the player has a helmet on etc etc) this was one of those rare instances where he clocked him just right. If he doesn't go into the stands you are probably looking at a 3 or 4 games suspension. But now there is a good chance his career at Oregon is over.
Also, it will be interesting to see what that Boise state player said. Regardless, the guy probably did deserve to get punched in the face for his actions. (though I am not condoning how Blount acted) The Boise Player shouldn't have been kicking the man while he was down. Words are one thing, but he also initiated the contact with Blount, and I think he should be suspended a game, or at least a half as well.

I didn't watch the end of the game (had to get into work early this morning) and tuned out right after the INT Oregon threw following their first and only touchdown of the game... it's like at that moment "Wow, you finally get the momentum back you blow it. Must be the SI cover and not coaching, right?"
Anyway, about that time they were talking about this guy and the trash talking he did to provide locker room clippings - saying that Bois Estate (pronounced "Bwah Estate" of course) deserved an a$$ whoopin'.

Gotta remember the timeline in all of this and how everyone "behaved stupidly."
1- BS guy touches UO guy's arm, talks trash.
2- BS guy gets scolded by head coach.
3- UO guy decks BS guy.
4- BS players and o-line assistant immediately surround the decked guy.
5- UO guy backs off, flexing arms.
And then...
1- BS fans talk trash (easy to talk trash when there's that barrier there with security, eh?)
2- Object allegedly thrown at UO player.
3- UO player charges fans.
4- BS fans suddenly back off in fear of getting decked too.
5- Security and teammates restrain UO player.
BS guy - you just won the game. Act like a winner.
UO guy - you just ended your college career looking like a loser after a loss.
BS fans - go chew on a potato. it won't look nearly as dumb as your fans hiding behind security.

Oregon's O-line is sooooo trash, on almost every play you can see their 0-line all turned around looking at the D-line in the backfield....they were also running plays where they were cutting the entire D-line(you run plays like that when your not confident in your O-LINE) I hope our o-line is better than that

The entire episode stemmed from Blount running his mouth, and the press making sure everyone was aware of it, especially the BS players. Personally, I hope they boot him, who needs a guy that starts trouble and contributes minus yardage and minus points anyway. Of course, with the class that Oregon seems to have, he will probably get less of a penalty than ol' glass jaw from BS will.

Usually when someone does something like this the players rally around 'their guy' without even know what or why it started, sometimes elevated it, sometimes to prevent it from getting worse. The Oregon players just looked at this guy like "DUDE! What's wrong with you!?!?!?"

I think, for Oregon, the issue is way more than the punch that sent the BSU guy down. This guy has had issues within the program in the past and he was on video throwing punches at teammates last night and the attempt at going into the stands and having to be restrained so physically by security .... and thats the stuff we do know.

They have. I just saw it on the scrolling news line while watching the Tulsa game.
Blount is suspended for the year and the BSU guy got hit a little...it went by pretty fast though.

It's been reported that he would be disciplined internally which I think is pretty normal for someone that gets caught with abusive trash talking... ie he didn't do anything physical.
As to the Oregon guy, he's missing the season for way more than that simple little punch. The way he carried on after that played a big part in it I'm sure.

I was down on blount until i noticed the BSU player slapping blounts shoulder pads. imo he deserved to get stole on, and the goofy dooshebag shocker face that accompanies a dooshebag being jolted back into place.
I think lb was booted for swingin at his teammates more than anything else.
Gotta admit I enjoyed seeing the smirk literally knocked off the mouthy kid's face. Wish bsu would suspend him for a month or so.
For Blount I thought the crazed reaction to the crowd was a lot worse than the initial right cross to the bsu blowhard.
But it's a bad situation all the way around.....

Blount got the ax though for not letting it go and then attacking fans as he was leaving the field. Had he not done that...it makes you wonder if he'd have gotten a year suspension as a Senior.
All of this brings back the bad memory of when the Nebraska Player bloodied one of the Rukneks in Norman during warm ups.
The NCAA turned it's eyes then too.

As you can see on this punch, it's the follow through at the end that purchased this dooshebag's naptime. Had Bloumt pulled back too soon, he would only had staggered the idiot; but the follow through made this blow painful to the subject. Nice work Blount!
